A simple email to representatives like this can have great power if
enough concerned citizens speak out publically against it. Please feel
free to copy and modify this letter as you need to to address your own
Representatives on this issue...

While I support environmental measures, I am voicing my opposition to
the Global warming & energy bill which will be voted on this Friday.
The science supporting Global Warming is not solid, and more top rated
scientists are coming out against it every day. The projections are
based on Faulty computer models, which have not been supported by
actual climatic occurrences. At this time, When the economy is
struggling to recover, or is in fact still going downward, we cannot
afford to raise energy prices across the board by massive amounts. The
rapid rise in gas prices prior to the crash raised prices on many
crucial staples for Americans. This rise contributed to the faltering
economy and was a major contributing factor to the crash. I am firmly
opposed to this bill and am voicing my opposition to it to you, Rep.
Himes, my Elected Representative for CT District 4. I hope that you
will support your constituents by voting in opposition to this economy
killing and scientifically unsupported Bill.

Letter To Senators Opposing Cap and Trade Legislation

I know that you are facing a tough re-election campaign and want to
represent the people of CT well. The issue of Cap and Trade
legislation is one of great concern for many reasons. The science
behind it is questionable at best, and is far from a proven fact. It
is based on computer models which have not been born out by actual
occurrences within the last decade. Most of the data used is over a
decade old and newer data and reports show the warming in prior
research was attributed more to Solar activity than man made causes.
It is of further note that temperatures have been declining in recent
years, not rising. The Democrats have referred to the CBO report and
EPA reports for citing costs. It is difficult to make a case for the
EPA being impartial when their is strong evidence that they excluded
data and peer reviewed research which opposed the conclusion that this
legislation was needed. The CBO report also had many caveats of items
not accounted for or excluded. More reliable sources of economic
impact data put the costs to individual taxpayers much higher, from
$1300 per year up to $3100 per year per household. These figures do
not account for rises in gas costs, as the CBO and EPA reports fail to
account for this as well. At a time when the economy is still trending
downward, stifling the economy further and forcing jobs out of the US
is poor policy. While I support environmental action, and action
encouraging green technologies, force feeding to the American public
at this point is economically dangerous and unjustifiable. I am
adamantly opposed to Cap & Trade legislation at this point in time and
hope that you will put the interests of your constituents over the
interests of your Party and will Vote NO on Cap & Trade legislation
when it is brought to a vote in the Senate. To do otherwise will make
your re-election far more difficult, as there is little support for
Cap & Trade locally or nationally. I will work diligently to defeat
any CT Congressman or Senator who votes for this legislation, as I
cannot afford the hardship which it will create for me personally and
the U.S. cannot afford the economic damage it will do to our already
weak economy. Vote NO on Cap & Trade or I and the majority of your
constituents, who are opposed to it will vote No on you in your next
election bid. It was not the Democrats and left wing of their party
who supported you, it was moderates like me in the last election. I am
a supporter of you and a strong supporter of Israel, as you are. I
hope that you will not betray the faith we placed in you to support
this faulty and unjustifiable legislation. I know you co-sponsored
other Cap & Trade legislation, and I respect your interest in it as an
means to push America toards energy independence and greener
technologies, but now is not the time for experiments which will
almost certainly hamper any possible recovery from the economic slump
we are suffering in as a country. Vote No on Cap and Trade.
