Will the Real Estate Market Crash? Interest rates are still climbing which will undoubtedly impact the purchasing power of buyers that are financing, and the reality is that most buyers in the market will finance Real Estate. There are still modest price gains across all property types in Westchester County Year over Year, 2.6% for single family for example. So why have the prices not plummeted? The recent aggressive Real Estate Market price gains were fueled by two important factors, historically low interest rates coupled with limited supply of inventory on the market. Granted, interest rates are steadily climbing, but the supply of homes on the market in Westchester remains an issue, hence why we have not seen dramatic price drops but more of a "cooling off" of the market, with more stable price increases.
