Would you please remember my granddaughter, Mary Julia Garcia-Brake, who has either osteocarima or ewingcarima (a rare cancer with only 250 cases in North America last year) in her femur?  She will be having 6 months treatment and a surgery.  This means she will be home bound for 6 months so I'll be in Atlanta a lot for the next 6 months.  Please remember her and her doctors in your prayers.  Also, remember our family in our prayers.  Thanks! My heart goes out to you. I'll keep your family in my prayers.Six months of surgery and treatments will be unraveling. I've been thinking about you and was going to call but kept putting it off thinking i'd see you at Annette' Bday party. I guess you won't be in town now, Selfishly I hope you make it. Give Kathy my best and tell her I'm praying that she stays strong  through this challenge.God gives us strength when we ask and God always gives us  love even when we don't ask. How old is Mary Julia? I thought I'd put together some fun activity books and send them to her to work while she is at home. When is the surgery?

We are soo sorry to hear of your granddaughters illness...such a young and loving child to suffer so much!  Of course we will keep her name and your family's lifted in prayer that the Great Physician will surround you with His love.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my email.

 

Just got off the phone with Cathy.  It is Ewing sarcoma that her 11 year old, Mary Julia, has.  She will begin chemotherapy to kill the sarcoma on Monday for 3 days straight.  I'll give you an update as soon as I know.

Mary Alice, please know that the prayers of God's great cloud of witnesses are with Mary Julia and you and your whole family, and we will continue to pray until Mary Julia is completely well, feeling wonderful, and running around playing with her friends. Let it be as soon as possible.
