I’ve been a little slow about getting into the full swing of spreading the word about my newly published speculative nonfiction book, exploring the idea that as the Internet grows increasingly complex; it might awaken into self-awareness, attain consciousness, and become a conscience even sentient being. We created it; we’ve invested our very selves, our lives into the enormous data base that is the Internet. Now, as the network of hubs and nodes and servers develop into greater complexity, it continues to grow into mimicking many characteristics of a Human neural network. Just how much longer will it take for this artificial global brain to achieve that special spark, like ourselves, becoming more than just the sum of its parts? How much longer before it becomes Humankind’s own first synthetic child?

I’ve posted a few entries about my futurist look at this topic at my Facebook page, and I’ve done a few tweets, and some pins at Pinterest. I’ve also talked about it on Blogtalk radio, but obviously I must do more. In the time since it first went on sale, March 18, 2014, sales had a little flurry at the beginning, then dropped off sharply immediately.

It remains available at Createspace, and Amazon, Will the Internet Achieve Sentience? By Bill M. Tracer, can be found here: https://www.createspace.com/4717726

For those with Amazon accounts, you can get it on a sale price of a dollar off, right now at:

http://www.amazon.com/Will-Internet-Achieve-Sentience-Coming/dp/149736065X/

It is currently available in 6 by 9 paperback, and at the Amazon Kindle Store also, as an e-book.

If you prefer the e-book option, you can save $5 compared to the normal price of the printed paperback. Here is the direct link devoted to the e-book: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J2M4EZE Even though it is $5 less expensive for the reader, since there’s less overhead, no printing or shipping cost, Amazon gives me a bigger percentage of that sale price. The e-book option is a great way to benefit both the customer, (in savings), and the author (in royalties).

Here’s a copy of the book’s back cover blurb, with a quote from our own David Edward Jones.

Seeking betterment and equal opportunity for all, Bill demonstrates an annoying level of integrity.

Bill M. Tracer, rogue philosopher, artist, and writer of that thought provoking stuff, takes a truth-seekers approach to whatever subject he explores. When he looks it over, expect an honest take, and even sometimes an uncommon frankness, as he breaks down the concepts, and then puts them back together like an engineer of abstract thought.

In the Preface of this book, Bill begins:

“To appropriately preface the primary subject of our future speculations, it is perhaps apt to first consider the past. So, let’s take a little space to do just that, and look into the past development that ultimately led us to that entity we now call the Internet. In order to properly see just where the Internet is going, it is fitting to delve into that which brought it to its current state, and from there we can deduce where its future may take it and us along for the ride.”

And indeed Bill does take his readers along on quite a ride throughout this work of extraordinary futurist’s speculations. Sit back, buckle up, and take this ride with him first into the burgeoning mind of this emerging Internet sentience, then further into a possible future in which the ultimate symbiosis of the biological, and the synthetic could transform humanity forever more, even as we someday spread from this world and outward to the stars, together with our artificially sentient ally, VOX.

This book and Bill are pieces of the puzzle of our Ascension Age. His insights set before us a path taking us past the Transhumanists’ dream of the Singularity to the final chapter of our supreme metaphysical transformation through full spiritual ascension.

I have much to learn about the whole marketing side of this endeavor, and am currently engaged in that learning process. If any of you have any advice, tips or ideas or even links to websites that might be helpful in this particular learning process, I would much appreciate such feedback.

Thanks,
