Good quality venue. We did 2 rooms, Candy Shop then Hostage. They were brilliant!!! Tibi was great too, very friendly and helpful. Definitely some of the best escape rooms we have ever done so will definitely be back to do the other 2 rooms! Was a really great way to spend our Boxing Day! Thank you! Our game was amazing! We did the "hostage" room. Our game master, Alice was amaaaaazingggg!!! She made our visit so fun. Her personality was fun and she was so great in providing clues without giving away too much. Definitely got us thinking and running around. We escaaaaaped with 19 seconds to spare. Thank you Alice for making our visit so exciting and fun!!!
We came today to do the Candy Room, this was my second escape room at Blackout and my husband and daughters first. We loved it! It was so well thought out and so much fun, we had to have a few hints along the way but made it out with 30 seconds to spare! The game host was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Would recommend 100% can't wait to book our next one :-).
We have done all of the Escape rooms here and loved all of them but this scary 'Nightmare' one was the best! Multiple rooms to try and get out of, tunnels to crawl through, a scary man in with us making us jump, excellent varied puzzles...really enjoyed it!
Me and the Mrs did the Nightmare room and everything was so expertly put together. Rachel was very friendly and helpful and the scarer (Darren) did a phenomenal job at making us extremely scared! We loved the layout of the rooms and the way you move between rooms. Will definitely be coming back as this is the best escape room experience in MK!

After our escape was when our host really shone though, she greeted us with a great deal of enthusiasm at the door and took the time to have a friendly chat with us about what had gone well or not so well and we even got a chance to compare the Milton Keynes venue with the one in London. If Locked in a Room had another game left for us to play it would be a tough decision trying to decide which venue to play it at!
We had tried to find something else to work on while we were waiting, but at that point we needed the solution to their puzzle to move forwards. We did manage to make it almost a three person job, which left only one member of our team waiting, and it was a great puzzle, the ridiculousness of it adding a lot to its entertainment value! The other puzzles in the room were engaging and challenging enough that we had to pause and think about them but not so challenging that we ever got stuck.

We will deliver the kit to your door. The default time of delivery is 11:00 AM on the day of your rental. The maximum distance we will normally deliver the game is 10 miles either from Newport Pagnell or from our storage facilities in Great Denham (Bedford). Please check the distance from your place before you choose the delivery option. If you live further away please give us a call at 078786 78424 to arrange for a special delivery.
You will have the kit for up to 23 hours. Please make sure the kit is ready for collection by us by 10:00 AM on the day following the renting date.

Successfully freed of our restraints, we turned out attention to the longer term goal of getting out of our prison. The first half of the room leans towards more traditional style padlock tasks which collectively provide clues and items needed to advance onto the next puzzle. One of the final tasks in the first half of the game, was slightly (very slightly) more physical than the others up to this point and provided a good five minutes of laughs and frustration. Up to this point, we were questioning why the room had such a low escape rate as the games, whilst fun, were using pretty tried and tested tasks.
Thankfully, we were then asked if we wanted to accept clues freely or for them only to be handed out if we asked for them. As fans of the games, we decided to ask for clues if we needed them and this worked out in our favour as we escape with no clues granted. Had we requested clues, these would have been delivered via a screen in the room. We like this approach as it is visible for all players to see during the game.
If there are more than 2 players, then 20 per person is a very fair price for an escape game in Milton Keynes. We played as a group of four so were able to make the most of this price. Locally, we often play as a team of 2 and here that would increase the price to 30 per person. At that price Blackout go from competitively priced to one of the pricier games for a smaller team.
We recommend allowing a total of 1.5 hours for your escape rooms experience. You should arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking time, up to 60 Minutes to escape the room, and an additional 15 minutes for a post-game debrief.
Our Milton Keynes escape rooms are accessible to all. We can provide additional seating in the room if required. However, please be aware there may be some physical challenges in the rooms and we strongly advise you do not play Operation Poseidon.
Chief Librarian, Valery Ulanovsky, has got hold of a classified document which has the state secret. He has kept this in a room at his apartment. Mr Ulanovsky is scheduled to fly to The Republic of Tyrania in four hours. He has gone out to meet a secret agent and the meeting will last an hour . Players are from the Detective Agency and they have to find the documents and escape the room within the hour.
When we did come across puzzles, they were tedious, tenuous and terrible. Twice one of my teammates came up with a frankly ridiculous idea which even they looked embarrassed to suggest but which then turned out to be right. On one occasion we had to arbitrarily ignore one of the clues in a puzzle and drop a number. On another we unlocked a box to find a code for another box. I never once throughout the whole game got a sense of satisfaction when we progressed. Unless you count finishing the game, but that was more relief than satisfaction.

As fantastic as Dean's rooms are, when he GM's, the entire experience becomes 100% more terrifying! The set is creepy, the scares come from EVERYWHERE. Definitely some of the scariest escape rooms in the UK
Placement puzzles don't work, had to be told to pick something up, and place it back down again for it to use... also use of Disney songs & Disney imagery within the room, and an image on the clue screen that clearly hadn't been paid for...

Host just kept walking into the room and standing there. Felt a little bit patronising. Abit weird. First room was great head high expectations. Some red flags to waste time. I like to be able to guess a clue and still be able to open it. With this game they won't allow that. It's all manually triggered. The last clue wasn't even in the room. It was thrown in. The game was completely controlled by the games master
