Ihad my USB-6229 connected to my PC (Windows 7 64bit) this morning and everything was fine: Windows detected the device, the device showed up on on NI MAX, and testing through NI MAX was successful. I then installed the NI DAQmx 9.8 driver to replace the NI DAQmx 9.6 driver that I was using (the DAQ Assistant icon in my functions menu in LabVIEW 2013 was not present, and this upgrade fixed that issue). Unfortunately, Windows now no longer recognizes the same DAQ device that worked earlier this morning.

I contacted NI support, and we were unable to reach a solution, so, as a last effort, re-installed the driver for the third time, which finally worked. I'm not sure what the problem was, but here are some extra steps I took before re-installing the driver that may benefit those who encounter a similar problem:

1. As Philip mentioned, start the NI Device Loader if it has not been started or stop/start it if it has. The startup status ought to be set to "automatic." You can find the NI Device Loader by starting Task Manager, selecting the "Services" tab, then selecting the "Services" button. Scroll down the list until you find it.

2. Open up Device Manager and search for your device (mine was labeled as "unidentifiable"). Right click and select "Properties." Select the "Driver" tab. You may need to manually select the driver folder, which should be located in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS.

While installing the Windows 11 Dev update to build 22610 today, Windows Defender arrested "Severe" malware, an actively running process, not just an inactive file. The update errored with 0xc190011f at the same time, so 22610 wasn't installed. The only recent downloads I have were never run. 22598 is plenty new, so unpatched vulnerabilities in the existing build shouldn't be why it became infected. Only a blank pen drive was connected recently. The Chromium browser was recently updated, so it wasn't an exploit through an outdated browser.

I performed a Quick Scan and Offline Scan with Windows Defender, updated Emsisoft Emergency Kit and used it to scan from the Recovery Environment, used SFC and DISM, performed a Full Scan, deleted Software Distribution, made a System Image Backup, and installed the 22610 update again. Threats found. At 5%, the Windows Defender notification appeared and the 0xc190011f error code in Windows Update. This was reproduced 4 times in total, quicker when retrying without having deleted Software Distribution.

Microsoft Support refused this issue because the operating system is currently under development, as if that makes it any more acceptable to distribute malware through Windows Update. It doesn't matter that it's under development, having a "Severely" malicious update for download is intolerable.

If it's completely unknown how to solve the "Severe" Behavior:Win32/Powessere.SA while downloading build 22610 because it's so new, then it's not that difficult to simply pull 22610 from being available for download. I know this is the wrong place to post this, but this is where Microsoft Support said to.

I know it's not supported, but not providing Behavior:Win32/Powessere.SA has to be maintained at all times. Preview builds being unsupported translating to it being acceptable to distribute Behavior:Win32/Powessere.SA is as if the Windows Defender team saying they don't need to maintain their antivirus signatures because none of the malware is their own and therefore not their responsibility to support.

Microsoft Support said "The Windows Insider forum is a peer to peer group of volunteers that are testing future beta releases of Windows 10 and as it is beta software Microsoft offers no support to Insiders who voluntarily download and test these beta builds."

Translation: The Windows Insider forum is a peer to peer group of volunteers that are downloading malicious beta releases of Windows 11 and as it is beta software Microsoft offers no assurance to Insiders who voluntarily download and test these beta builds that they aren't infected with malware.

Microsoft Support also said "When you first joined the Insiders you should have read the Terms of Service and Code of Conduct prior to joining." I did though, nothing in the agreement makes it any more acceptable to provide Behavior:Win32/Powessere.SA no matter how buggy the builds may have to be.

I myself do spend a highly significant amount of time each day assisting others, and did for myself, but the root issue can only be solved by Microsoft by pulling the 22610 download or confirming the Windows Defender detection is a false positive.

If Microsoft is to provide severely malicious Behavior:Win32/Powessere.SA infected updates of Windows 11, that's not secure anyway, so if security is out the window even with the latest, why don't I just revert to using Windows 7, the best Windows ever, which is by far the finest ever produced?

Great - this confirms that Microsoft Defender works correctly!

The warning you received was caused by the latest version, or an unidentified insider program process (Defender downloaded the latest threat definitions) it caused that the danger was no longer detected!

Thank you for your post because such problems need to be clarified - of course you understand that the diagnostic data was automatically transferred to Microsoft - this helps a lot!

nope, just like you said it was a recommendation of solution to solve the problem. And more than that it is a simple quick fix... Considering we don't have the full detail of the info with that copy came from. But you if you think you want to tackle down all of the virus with other issues it brought then go for it.

@Little_Joe The virtual machine was originally installed from for build 22499, and was upgraded through Windows Update and more ISOs until 22598, and now Windows Update is attempting to install 22610.

I currently have a Seiki (SE32HS01; provided by my Advanced display options) TV (monitor) hooked up to one of my NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB HDMI output. I use it mainly to watch videos if I'm laying in bed so I don't really have it on as much as I do my main monitor (Acer XF270H B; also provided by display options; if you need more detail I can look at the manuals).

It might require a third party extension, but I would like for my computer to recognize the off screen and return back to a single screen computer when the TV is off and return to the double screen when it is on.

For example, I can use my TV remote to turn ON my blu-ray player, and control it via the TV's remote because of the CEC function. In addition, if I place a DVD/BLURAY disc in, and the TV is OFF, it automatically turns ON with the contents of the disc displayed. From some unknown reason each manufacturer has a different name for CEC in the marketing materials.

When a display is plugged in it exchanges EDID formatted information to let the other device know what it can handle in terms of resolutions and frequencies and a small amount of trivial data. EDID has been supported since VGA.

As an alternative, it may be useful to you to switch between Mirrored and Extended modes using Windows key+P when the TV is turned off and on. As mentioned in another answer, the TV may appear to be "on" to the video card when the screen itself is off.

Ok... while the Win-P solution is "somewhat helpful" if you need to limit your desktop to only the primary display, its not helpful if you say... had 3 monitors, and went down to 2, and windows still believes you have that third monitor.

Because it limits you to "only 1 display" or "extends across all, including the missing 3rd display". I've been googling this all morning, and I found the answer on my own. None of the boards or support sites mentioned this. This worked on Windows 10

To move all open windows to the main monitor while the TV is unavailable, you could right-click the taskbar and choose Cascade. This will arrange all open windows in a cascade, which might be bothersome, but it will also move them all to the main screen in the process.

The reason it detects when your TV turns on is because as part of coming out of standby your TV appears to reset the electronics on the input from your computer. This will cause your computer to see the connection go down briefly and come back up.

If you manually want to revert to a single display you can press Windows+P and select "PC Screen Only" to switch back to single screen mode. When you want to use the TV again you press the key combination again and select "Extend".

I have a 3rd monitor (TV) plugged to play games on my couch in the evening. By day, I do Professional Video editing. Every morning, my Windows would keep seeing the TV, even when off, and causing issues. So I had to constantly unplug it and plug it back in every night. (Which can't be good for the connection over time) Your solution actually worked. Thanks!

I just received a Giga, but have been unable to get it connected. When I power it up I only get a single power light (other videos I've seen appear to be showing a second light by Boot0). Windows does not appear to detect the device. I've tried multiple USB C cables, multiple windows 10 computers and a Mac. When I put it in DFU mode, it is detected though.

Exactly the same here - just a single power light. Except I didn't try the DFU mode yet. I started with Windows 8.1, than Windows 10, than Windows 11 (brand new laptop). Different computers each time. Brand new Arduino Mega R1, brand new USB-C/USB-A cable (also tried a second one). I contacted the support, already got an answer and a lot of questions, which I answered an hour ago, so the answer from the support is of course not there yet.

Hi, follow the getting started page of GIGA R1 WiFi and also the cheatsheet of the board. If that doesn't help get in contact with us directly and we can help you with the troubleshooting of the board and identify what could be the reason.

There is a process to flash the boot loader - -us/articles/7991505977116-Burn-the-bootloader-on-GIGA-R1-WiFi. I was successful in getting the two boards I have up and running with this method. Note: there is one discrepancy in the article (item 1 and item 4 - I successfully used the bootloader that was released with 4.0.6 board package (item 4)
