Select the Type tool (T) and, using the Franks font at 230 pt, type the word "FRESH" in white in the center of the document. Change the text layer's Fill value to 0%, then press Command-J (PC: Ctrl-J) twice to make two copies.

STEP THREE: Double-click to the right of the first copy text layer's name to open the Layer Style dialog. Choose Bevel & Emboss on the left, change the Size to 10 px, uncheck Use Global Light, and make the Angle 63 and Altitude 69. Check the Anti-aliased box, change the Highlight Mode to Overlay, Highlight Mode Opacity to 100%, and Shadow Mode Opacity to 0%. Click OK to apply the layer style. This will add another glossy layer to the text.

Choose Outer Glow from the Styles list. Change the Blend Mode to Linear Light and set Noise to 19%. Click the yellow color swatch, choose #dbffb7 for the color, click OK to close the Color Picker, and change Size to 7 px. Click OK to apply the layer style. This adds the last glossy layer, as well as an outer glow to make the effect look more interesting.

Click Drop Shadow, reduce Opacity to 15%, uncheck Use Global Light, change the Angle to 113, and set the Distance to 7 px. Click OK to apply the layer style. This styles the drops and blends them nicely with the text.

Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) a text layer's thumbnail to load it as a selection, then click the Add Layer Mask icon (circle in a square) at the bottom of the Layers panel. This will get rid of all the extra drops outside the text, but you'll still be able to delete the mask and reapply it to any other text you create.

STEP SIX: Open one of the water drops images in the Gex78 folder (any image will work). With the Move tool, drag-and-drop the image into the working file, then drag it below the original text layer. Double-click the layer's name and rename it Water BG. At the top of the Layers panel, change the blend mode to Overlay. Choose Edit>Free Transform and resize the image so it extends a bit behind the text.

Next, place the cursor a bit above the water drops image's top edge, then click-and-drag to the bottom of the text. This will erase the upper part of the image and make it fade into the original background. You can undo and redo the step until you get a result that you think looks good.

The high glossy grotesque mound of pink pudd is iconic and strangely attractive to the eye. The bold pink and soft grey are incorporated in all aspects of the record. While the front is void of words, the back boldly and clearly declares the play list. It's solid but doesn't wow.

Layer effects are linked to the layer contents. When you move or edit the contents of the layer, the same effects are applied to the modified contents. Say, if you apply a drop shadow to a text layer and then add new text, the shadow is added automatically to the new text.

While creating custom layer styles, use contours to control the shape of Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Outer Glow, Bevel, and Emboss. Use a Linear contour on a Drop Shadow to make the opacity drop off in a linear transition and a Custom contour to create a unique shadow transition.

this is my first hair gloss and the product itself is not the best for my hair. my hair gets greasy easily so this causes my freshly-washed ungreased hair to become oily. I also don't like getting product all over my pillowcase so I only use it on days where I plan to wash my hair since I shower in the evening. I do love how long-lasting it is, and I often use it when I'm doing work in the lab or at the beach where my hands would constantly be in water/being washed [stripping away my perfume oil : ( ] so I can still smell something nice throughout the day. moving my head even a bit gives me a nice whiff, I feel like there's a scent aura around my head.

A gloss is a brief notation, especially a marginal or interlinear one, of the meaning of a word or wording in a text. It may be in the language of the text or in the reader's language if that is different.

A collection of glosses is a glossary. A collection of medieval legal glosses, made by glossators, is called an apparatus. The compilation of glosses into glossaries was the beginning of lexicography, and the glossaries so compiled were in fact the first dictionaries. In modern times a glossary, as opposed to a dictionary, is typically found in a text as an appendix of specialized terms that the typical reader may find unfamiliar. Also, satirical explanations of words and events are called glosses. The German Romantic movement used the expression of gloss for poems commenting on a given other piece of poetry, often in the Spanish Décima style.

Glosses were originally notes made in the margin or between the lines of a text in a classical language; the meaning of a word or passage is explained by the gloss. As such, glosses vary in thoroughness and complexity, from simple marginal notations of words one reader found difficult or obscure, to interlinear translations of a text with cross references to similar passages. Today parenthetical explanations in scientific writing and technical writing are also often called glosses. Hyperlinks to a glossary sometimes supersede them.

Starting in the 14th century, a gloze in the English language was a marginal note or explanation, borrowed from French glose, which comes from medieval Latin glōsa, classical glōssa, meaning an obsolete or foreign word that needs explanation.[1] Later, it came to mean the explanation itself. The Latin word comes from Greek γλῶσσα 'tongue, language, obsolete or foreign word'.[2][3] In the 16th century, the spelling was refashioned as gloss to reflect the original Greek form more closely.[4]

Glosses and other marginal notes were a primary format used in medieval Biblical theology and were studied and memorized for their own merit. Many Biblical passages came to be associated with a particular gloss, whose truth was taken to be scriptural. Indeed, in one case, it is generally reckoned that an early gloss explicating the doctrine of the Trinity made its way into the Scriptural text itself, in the passage known as the "three heavenly witnesses" or the Comma Johanneum, which is present in the Vulgate Latin and the third and later editions of the Greek Textus Receptus collated by Erasmus (the first two editions excluded it for lack of manuscript evidence), but is absent from all modern critical reconstructions of the New Testament text, such as Westcott and Hort, Tischendorf, and Nestle-Aland.

In the medieval legal tradition, the glosses on Roman law and Canon law created standards of reference, so-called sedes materiae 'seat of the matter'. In common law countries, the term "judicial gloss" refers to what is considered an authoritative or "official" interpretation of a statute or regulation by a judge.[5] Judicial glosses are often very important in avoiding contradictions between statutes, and determining the constitutionality of various provisions of law.

A longer or more complex transcription may rely upon an interlinear gloss. Such a gloss may be placed between a text and its translation when it is important to understand the structure of the language being glossed, and not just the overall meaning of the passage.

Sign languages are typically transcribed word-for-word by means of a gloss written in the predominant oral language in all capitals; for example, American Sign Language and Auslan would be written in English. Prosody is often glossed as superscript words, with its scope indicated by brackets.

Sans serif fonts (minimalist fonts with no lines finishing the strokes) tend to be clearer and more readable, making them perfect for small type and contact information. Serif fonts, with their old-timey curves, are a little bit more detailed. You can play with various weights within the font family to create a coherent look, or pair a sans serif font with a serif or a script one.
