Adrift is a 2018survival drama film produced and directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by David Branson Smith, Aaron Kandell, and Jordan Kandell. The film is based on the 2002 book Red Sky in Mourning by Tami Oldham Ashcraft, a true story set during the events of Hurricane Raymond in 1983. The film stars Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin as a couple who are adrift in the middle of the Pacific Ocean after a hurricane, and must find their way to Hawaii with a damaged boat and no radio.
A cuisine and hospitality hub within the small town of White Stone, Virginia. The act of being adrift among a group or community is classically defined as floating without being either moored or steered. The goal of ADRIFT is to offer itself as a vessel for the community at large to explore, embrace and experience the beautiful bounty of our area. We will not moor or steer you, rather invite you to truly taste.
With this information, we have been able to create a statistical model of the surface pathways of our ocean. The plasticadrift website uses this model and generates an animation of the likely path and destination of floating debris over a ten year period, either into the future or into the past.
Insecurity now defines our world. The secure society has become the "risk society." The belief that we are all in this together has been replaced with the assumption that you're on your own. Cut adrift, Americans are struggling to forge security in an insecure age.
