Edit I am also interested in mirroring my phone on an HD TV and hooking up two Bluetooth controllers to play some co-op metal slug. This works very nicely with the GameCube and PSX emulator, I was wondering if some Neogeo or possibly MAME emulator exists that can do the same.

Well, I can only give 4 stars, because there are still a lot of bugs/bags, but in my opinion, this game is quite interesting and fits reality, just not quite right with metal slug basically. Ok thanks...
Well, metal slug 2 can only work for android or any other compatible devices with bluetooth. playing an ios with other os over bluetooth doesnt work because apple designed it only for apple products.
Co-op play is limited to two players via Bluetooth connection, meaning both players will need iOS or Android devices to start slugging metal together. It's a bit of a barrier to overcome for some simple two player action, but it's portable and it's a whole lot easier to find an iPad owner than it is to find a Metal Slug arcade cabinet these days.
