Does anyone have clarity on the application of the free vouchers for

Ekurhuleni

1.       Council advised that the 100 kWh allocation was automatic and not subject to consumption nor financial compliance – is this correct

2.       If the above is correct can we allocate a portion of the free allocation to common area electricity consumption

Johannesburg

The rules regarding the free allocation are not as clear as I thought, they seem to indicate that anyone using under 300 kWh can get free electricity, if this is so is the indigency requirement still of force.

Thanks

Look at the Ekurhuleni website electricity tariiffs @
http://www.ekurhuleni.com/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,567/

Looking at residential tariffs only:
Tariff A (Lifeline) has restrictions as to who qualifies for it.
Tariff A and Tariff B are either/or options.

The choice between Tariff A and B depends on consumption. For some
customer Tariff A will be cheapers (typically lower consumption
customers) and for other Tariff B will be better. I have a nice graph
that shows this. Once I figured out how to upload files to the forum I
will make it available.

When speaking about common property you imply sectional title which is
a bulk tariff. FBE is aimed at residential customers and local by laws
differ on how FBE is applied to sectional title complexes.

Hi
I stand corrected but the council has area's that qualifies to get
free electricity.
Not everyone
They issue for some one in Sandton a free token because he can pay his
own way.
That's what i understand about free electricity.
Phone the council and find out from them witch areas will qoulify with
free electricity.
