On one particularly scorching Georgia afternoon we pulled up in my little Toyota. Sure enough, there was Aunt Delores sitting on her porch watching her programs. She kept a TV on her front porch, never worrying that it might get stolen.

Whisk together egg and milk in a medium bowl, add garlic powder, dried mustard and cayenne (if using); stir to combine. Pour the milk mixture over macaroni. Top with remaining cheese. Press mixture down with the palm of your hand, compacting it uniformly.

Call It Macaroni is an American children's television series that premiered on January 24, 1975.[1] It was produced by Group W (Westinghouse Broadcasting Company, Inc.) with executive producers Gail Frank and Stephanie Meagher.[2][3] Prior to its release, Donald McGannon, the chair of Group W, announced the show was a call to action for children to have a specific slot for their television.[4] Intended to be a 12-part series of children's specials to be aired once a month, due to its popularity, another 12 specials were produced.[5][6]

Its goal was to show 10-12-year-olds different things they could experience in the United States.[7] It follows a different group of children each episode as they go to different places within the country, learning about a culture, city, environment, job, or hobby.

After about a decade, however, macaroni fashion eventually found its way beyond the aristocracy and, as so often happened, became no longer truly fashionable. Macaroni fashion also changed to become even more ostentatious. The tight pants and short coats remained but were now joined by fancy walking sticks, striped stockings, and even bigger wigs. Macaroni, as the men sporting this sort of dress were known, were now ridiculed for their clothing and seen as being less than manly. (Some modern historians posit that the macaroni should actually be lauded for their bravery because dressing so outlandishly during that time period was not for the weak.)

Macaroni does not refer to the tasty cheesy pasta dish that we all love and know. It refers to an elaborate short-lived fashion trend in England at the end of the 18th century. The trend started with upper-class youths who returned from their Grand Tours of mainland Europe with a great appreciation for continental style and taste. They brought back the luxurious fabrics of the French as well as the pasta dishes of the Italians, thus macaroni was used to refer to the fashion trend.[1]

The average colonist would probably not have had a pastel silk waistcoat or stripped knee socks, however. For them, linen, wool, cotton and linsey-woolsey were all common clothing fabrics in more natural or sedate colors. An average person may only have had 2 or 3 outfits so durability was preferable to style.[4]

Voight is under review after Jin's murder and the intelligence team has not been allowed to investigate it themselves, seeing as they were close to him. Internal Affairs is trying to use his murder to take Voight down.

Burgess meets with Roman, who is clearly annoyed that she is a woman after he says that Sergeant Platt told him it was "Tim" not Kim. Platt says she made a mistake and it's clear that Roman doesn't want to work with her. Kim is further upset by the fact that Roman's previous partner was a female and so wonders why he doesn't want to work with her personally.

Sergeant Platt then gives Jay a package that had been sent to the wrong place that he was supposed to receive 6 weeks ago. He is hesitant and opens it up to find that it is a flash drive from Jin with a message saying that he only trusts Jay. As Jin was dead soon after, Jay isn't sure about what to do and tells Lindsay, who tells him to trust Voight with it. However, he checks what's on it himself first and it supposedly shows the killer and it's not Voight. He gives Voight the USB after he finds this out.

Voight finds out that it was Stillwell who got Jin killed and isn't happy. He meets with Stillwell and threatens to expose him, but he replies that if he does, he will make sure every cop knows that Voight worked with Internal Affairs, and no one will trust him after this. Voight starts to listen to him and tries suppressing the evidence, even refusing to answer or hand the USB back to Halstead, who isn't happy with what's going on either. However, he is challenged when Jin's mother comes to see him. She thanks Voight for letting Jin in on a team and letting him work without prejudice, something she says he dealt with previously.

The squad follows the case of two violent brothers who have killed a police officer to have evidence destroyed. They find that they have also murdered a girlfriend for trying to leave. Antonio meets up with a CI - Alissa or "Jellybean", who gives him intel. He passes this on but she later tells him that her life is in danger if she tells him anymore and that he can choose to use the information or not. He immediately backs down and tells Voight that she couldn't help. He later gives her pay for being a CI, telling her to leave town like she had told him earlier on. She is overjoyed and kisses him out of gratitude, as he tells her to stay out of trouble or he'll come for him but she tearfully and happily tells him that he won't ever see her again.

Voight's mind changes after Susan Jin visits him and he ultimately hands over the USB to the police. Stillwell is arrested on screen and Halstead respects him once again, but Lindsay is upset that he hid the fact that he was working with Internal Affairs.

Burgess digs further into Roman's previous partner and accuses him of being sexist, to which he admits that he fell in love with her which is why he transferred out. They go on to investigate a heist.

Lindsay meets with Bunny, who Nadia had been saying was calling Lindsay at work all day. Bunny is Lindsay's mother. Lindsay isn't happy with the reunion and only drops by her place of work to tell her to stop calling her at work and to email her. Bunny tells her she is getting married, to which Lindsay replies "good for you" sarcastically. Bunny apologises for the past.

Halstead, Ruzek and Lindsay have followed up on their lead to another heist case on two brothers. Halstead ends up shooting one of the brothers as he's about to shoot them and kills him. Later that night, Olinsky is told by one of his CI's that there is a $100,000 bounty on Halstead for killing the brother.

BOIL MACARONI Start by boiling your elbow macaroni noodles until they are tender to the bite. Quickly drain the noodles then run cool water over them to stop them from cooking any further.

YES! In fact, I think this salad tastes even better the second day, once the flavors have had a chance to blend together. Store the salad in an air-tight container in the fridge and make sure to stir again before serving.

I made this recipe as a side dish for my bake chicken thigh and I love it. I cannot wait to hear my family comments. I did not add celery because I did not had but I add some green onions from my garden. Thank you for sharing.

Made this as the recipe called for, no meat. I did make it for another meal and I added cooked scallops and shrimp for a total meal along with some french bread. This was served to some ladies after a trail ride. It worked beautiful and was great. It held up nicely for a late start on eating and the ladies were delighted with a lite type meal. Thank you very much for another great recipe.

Why not just appreciate the recipe and write your own recipe on macaroni salad on your own website! You people who reply without making it and you who make it totally different and reply are idiots!

Miriam, if you want to used Dannon regular yogurt for past of the dressing, Early in the day pour it into a sieve lined with a coffee filter. Let it sit in the fridge over a bowl. Much of the excess liquid will strain off, then just discard that. It makes a nice, thicker yogurt for any of your sauces. I do this for tzaziki sauce for Greek/meat and veggie dishes. Shawn, BTW, been cooking for a LONG LONG time and for the past several years, this is my go-to mac salad recipe! Love it and your videos!

Today when we think of macaroni, we typically start salivating for the nostalgically-delicious childhood meal made of noodles and a cheese-like substance eaten from a box, but the macaroni in this instance refers to a fashionable man from the mid-18th century who spoke and dressed in an outlandish and epicene manner.

This is a classic, tasty, and oh-so easy macaroni salad recipe! Made with classic ingredient staples including celery, red pepper, and onion and dressed up in a simple creamy mayo-based dressing, this is guaranteed to be a hit at every cookout and potluck this year!

You can obviously add your favorite additional add-ins or make substitutions (I know some people prefer sliced green onions to red onion and some people like to add paprika to their dressing), but this if my favorite combination and I really recommend you try it out exactly this way at least once for yourself.

Macaroni salad will keep for up to five days when stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container. This is a great salad for making in advance (I actually recommend chilling for at least an hour before serving) and serving at picnics and potlucks, but try not to leave it out at room temperature (or worse, in the heat!) for very long as the salad dressing base will not keep well in the heat.

I love your recipes! However, I do not understand why all your pasta recipes include only 12 ounces of pasta. Almost all pasta in the U.S. comes in a 1lb. container (16 ounces). This is wasteful (and honestly, it doesn't really change the experience ALL THAT MUCH if you use all 16 ounces in your recipes). Wouldn't it be simpler to just formulate the recipes for a pound of pasta? Thanks!
