Ganesh Chaturthi is the birthday of Bhagwan Ganesh Ji, the son of
Bhagwan Shiv Parvati Ji. The celebrations begins with the Staphana
of beautifully sculpted Bhagwan Ganesh Ji idols in homes and mandaps
(large tents), colorfully decorated, depicting religious themes.
Bhagwan Ganesh Ji is widely worshipped as the supreme god of wisdom,
prosperity and good fortune. The immersion is accompanied by
drumbeats, devotional songs and dancing. Devotees pray and request
Bhagwan Ganesh Ji to come back soon next year.

Ashok Mewani's residence. The Ganpati program was done by Sant Naresh

Today the celebrations move to Long Island, Madhu Bhim Kaliandasani's
