Aboutto fire this up but after spending ages in star wars lobbies on my last grind was hoping to get in some offline action and am hearing differing results about which trophies can be obtained offline. Does anyone know which ones can actually be earned against bots (and are 100% sure)? Would be nice if we could put a list together as it would be a good resource for future players too.
There are only 5 trophies that can be obtained in offline play against the bots. A PH.D in murder, which I wouldn't recommend doing offline as the bots can be extremely un co-operative while working toward that, as they'll usually either run right into you or lock themselves into a cabin, if you want to perform a certain kill they'll make your life as difficult as possible basically.
The 4 trophies for killing counselors can be earned offline too, but the only way to unlock them offline is to reach the kill number required to unlock it in that particular game, as every time an offline match ends, your kill count will reset back to what it was before the match started. For example if you want to get the 1313 kill trophy by only doing offline matches, you'll need 1305/1306 kills before entering the game otherwise you won't earn it. If you have say 218 kills and end the match with 8 kills your kill count will drop back down to 218. Constantly doing offline games to get kills won't work so don't waste your time. I'd really recommend just doing everything in private matches with a friend after you get bored of the game.
Artificial intelligence is a challenge enough for game developers, but I can only imagine that the latest patch for the Friday The 13th game brought a raft of new and interesting problems to developers Illfonic, as they've had to simulate artificial stupidity.
As of this week, less sociable murderers can experience the game from Jason's perspective offline, with the camp-grounds populated by a swarm of up to seven AI-controlled camp counselors possessed of almost suicidally poor judgement. It just wouldn't be authentic otherwise.
Sadly, the bots only work as fodder for Jason in offline play, so if you were hoping to cooperate with a team of expendable AI friends while evading Jason, you're out of luck. Still, given that Jason's gameplay was the hardest aspect of the game to learn (being one against an entire team), it's a great place for new players to learn what the big guy is meant to be doing, all while observing the Do's and Do Not's of life as a counselor.
Bots aren't the only major addition in this new update. The Virtual Cabin - a combination of virtual developer diary and Easter egg repository - has been overhauled, and now boasts some new secrets to uncover. The full patch-notes suggest that there are some important revelations to be found in there for players wishing to sink a little time into poking around the dusty old building.
A new playable counsellor also joins the roster of the damned; Shelly Finkelstein from the 3rd film. While just another victim for Jason, this poor fool does have the dubious honor of being the one who inadvertently gave Jason his now-iconic hockey mask. They also managed to bring back original actor - Larry Zerner - to reprise the role, although I can't help but wonder how many of his lines were variants on "Argh! Oh no! I am being stabbed in the face by a big scary man!"
The update also brings a higher level cap. Very dedicated players can now reach level 150, unlocking new kill animations and skins for Jason, new clothing options for the counselors, and promises of further goodies to be unlocked further down the line, assuming players have already reached the required level.
All in all, this is an impressive bundle of post-release support, and by no means the last that Illfonic have planned for the game. While the game may have suffered from some technical issues shortly after launch, it's great to see that the studio have supported it well past those initial doldrums, making it a genuinely unique little multiplayer experience, albeit a slightly niche one.
I have an iPhone 11 with latest version of iOS and have been having a re-occuring problem playing downloaded apple music offline without cell or wifi connection. I fly frequently and this has become quite annoying as the music will not play. I've done the recommendations from other discussions - Disabled Dolby Atmos, Disabled Lossless Audio, disabled sync library (although I was required to enable this again in order to download songs).
Downloaded music will play for a period if a internet connection is established and a downloaded song is started. This is a workaround for short periods of being offline but for longer periods the downloaded music eventually stops playing.
I have been seeking information also on this. My issue is with the Lossless or Atmos quality songs offline. It appears to be a Fetch issue where you need to confirm online that your subscription is active. I work remote and go weeks without cell or internet and so far non atmos or lossless songs will last over 21 days. Longest for Lossless i can get is 7 days (175 hours) and it actually just stopped again within 48 hours so its not consistant. Could have to deal with billing cycle or when their systems are set to auto check you have paid for the subscription. Again all regular downloads work, the coding for the higher res stuff though its like they don't want you to play it offline.
Just wanted to put it out there that there are people like myself, that would be willing to pay extra just to have an offline mode / ability to skip updates for offline play. Needless to say my internet does not allow for multiplayer functionality anyway.

Actually I think in terms of commercial succes this sim would benefit from an offline mode. Many users of this sim are located in regions with slow internet connections. If you Microsoft desires to attract more users, let them be able to download the scenery rather than streaming from the server. Of course this only works if you fly within a certain region. The third party addons are stored on younoocal drive already, so why not the base scenery?
great post, i feel you, but i am afraid that this sim is not the right choice then.
every 2 months at least there will be biggish updates.
storing a part will be difficult even, the amount of data is huuge, and then if you wanna
fly live., there will be probably an upgrade waiting.
i think you need to consider( reconsider) a totally local sim.
I have superfast unlimited fibre so do not need to but from what I can see, you can in fact draw a rectangle over the area you want to download. You still need an internet connection to play but it will pull data from the already downloaded content on your disk.
When I first launched FS2020 I downloaded everything manual cache had at the time. I was able to pick areas I wanted to fly most often and did it in case my internet went down. When I turned off the internet it worked well, at least usable, and I was happy about that. I later realised I did not need it I and deleted it and have not used it since. I would suggest rolling cache will load any area and be usable with or without the internet. Worth a try?
