Help survivors of catastrophic floods in Andhra Pradesh
Everyone in the state and the nation is well aware of the disaster caused by floods in the state. At this time of emergency besides the government, many NGOs, organizations and individuals have stood up and demonstrated their humanity.
As sensitive citizenry, Premalayam’s members, volunteers and many other individuals from various sections are enquiring whether Premalayam is taking up any step in this respect.
As Primary Education is one of our key focus areas, we are planning to help the primary school children in flood affected regions. As all the things like books, bags and school dresses that a child needs to study were lost when their homes were swept away in the floods, they are left helpless.
As our organization does not have a grass root level network in these areas, we are coordinating with another state wide organization that is working there at ground level and this support will be monitored by us.

Here are the Details of the Project Requirements:
Our proposed area of working consists of 5 villages in Monepadu mandal, Mahboob Nagar district which are terribly affected by the flood waters of River Krishna. The proposed beneficiaries are the Government Primary School Children in these villages.
For A Primary School Student:
1. School Kit (A single kit - Rs 200/-): Bag - Rs 100/-, Note books (or slate) - Rs 75/-, Compass box with Pen/Pencil, eraser, sharpener, etc. - Rs 25/-
2. School dress: For One Child costs – Rs 250 /-
A Primary school consists of a total of five classes from 1st standard to 5th standard with an estimated strength of 100 to 120 students.
There are a total of 800 students in these 5 Govt Primary Schools
Total Project Cost:
1. Accessories Costs - 1, 60,000 Rs /-
2. School dress Costs - 2, 00,000 Rs/-
About Premalayam:
Premalayam is a Civil Society (non-profit) Organization comprising of committed and dedicated youngsters from various walks of life. The organization is convinced that the plethora of opportunities should be made available to the less privileged sections too.
