Thisproduct review is on one of my all-time favorite accessories: the Marmont Gucci belt with double G buckle design. I wear it frequently not only because it is stylish but the design is so easy to use that I prefer it over regular belts.
I was dying to get my hands on the iconic double G belt but the nearest boutique that stocked them was not accessible so my only option was to order online. The problem was, I did not know my size! Belt sizes online were listed from size 60 upwards but I did not really know what that number actually meant, as in does a size 60 mean 60 around my waist, my hips, or does it mean the total length of the belt? I called two different Gucci stores for help but received two completely different answers. Fed up and impatient, I took my chances and ordered my belt in a size 80, assuming it meant the whole length of the belt from end to end. SO WRONG!
Hi just i recived my gucci belt and your measurement is great and helpful
The size of the belts goes with middel hole
I bought 95cm and the measure from bukel to the middel hole is 95cm
And between each hole about 1 inch
So your measurement help me alot
Thank you
Thanx alot for your help
I was about to order wrong size but when i found your comment i calculate my saize
And i chose the correct one
All the web site wrote uncorect measerment
Thank you
thanks for reaching out! I would actually just see which hole on your old belt fits you best and then measure up to there. So, measure from the buckle to the hole and that corresponds to the belt size. Hope this helps!
This post is a little overdue - I've received a ton of questions about my Gucci belts - the fit/sizing and where to purchase, so today I'm sharing a few tips you should know before making the purchase. I currently have the Gucci leather belt with double G buckle in both black & brown. The belt width is 1.5" with antique brass hardware. I bought my first Gucci belt last year (the black one) and wore it so much I decided the brown version would be a great addition. So many of you have asked if I think they will still be in style for the next few seasons, and I say yes. It's a classic belt, and as long as you purchase a color that you'll wear often, it's a great investment. Sometimes I have to stop myself from wearing it because I'm always wanting to!
I honestly have no idea what size I got in the black version. I think it was maybe a 95 or 100? This was at the time when they were very difficult to find, so as soon as my local Gucci store had one in stock, I purchased it immediately. The black belt was still a little too big. At the time Gucci added 2 holes for me, but they don't do this anymore. Even with the additional holes, so I took it to Deno's in Dallas and they ended up cutting 3 inches off. The only downside to this was they had to cut at the base where the logo is (not at the end of the belt), so I lost all the stamping with the serial number, size, etc. This would just be a disadvantage if you plan to resell because there really isn't a way to guarantee the authenticity at that point. But I plan to keep mine forever, so I didn't mind.
I bought my brown belt (same exact style), this past June in size 85 and still had the Gucci store add 2 additional holes. This one was not cut down, but it is 1 inch longer than the black version. If available, I would have picked an 80 because that would have been the best fit. But, I love that by having additional belt holes I'm able to wear with jeans lower on my waist, or up high with skirts/dresses. It gives the belt more versatility, which is great since it is an investment.
I'm a 25/26 in jeans and think the 80 would be the best fit. But really, if you buy one larger, you'll be able to make it fit your waist with minor alterations no matter what. Gucci has a size guide on their site for reference too.
As mentioned, I've only purchased mine from the Gucci store, but Nordstrom, Net-a-Porter, & Mytheresa carry them almost all the time. They also have additional options when it comes to the style, size, and color. I love the look of the wider belt, which is why I've purchased 2 in the same size, but I also think the slim style (0.8") is really chic.
I'm always a fan of neutrals, but if I had to pick just one color it would be black. That was the first color I purchased and what I naturally gravitate towards. However, I've been wearing more tan & beige colors, so the brown was a great second addition. The white is so chic, and the blush is a fun way to add something a little more feminine into your outfit. There are also different textures like crocodile or hardware features like pearls and gemstones. I would suggest if you wear more black shoes go with the black belt and if you wear more neutral shoes, go with brown for the most versatility.
Just wondering if anyone on here has a Gucci belt and what size you have? Looked on Youtube and blogs to give me an idea what size to get. Measured myself and it seems id be inbetween 90-100. Im usually a size 10-12 in jeans, but have no idea if 100cm would be abit slack or snug? Not near a store to try on!
That sounds too big to me, but depends where you want to wear it. Like catacats I wanted to get as much wear as possible out of mine, so I bought it to fit my jeans (which sit at belly button) and got extra holes put in to wear it on my waist with dresses. At the time my waist was 28 inches and I was buying size 28-29 in jeans (also a 10-12). My belt is the skinny style and it's an 80. I did go in store first to try on as I found the online sizing very confusing!
Definitely sounds too big, as PP mentioned it's a good idea to go in and try on. I think the numbers are actually cm, so the 100 is quite big.
If you buy from selfridges rather than direct, they list their sizes as inch waist, so 26/28/30 which might be easier to gauge.
I'm a size 8 and and I actually have a kids Gucci belt no judging - it was half the price and fits me well I think it's 65cm actually.
Ah thanks for the replies!
I did think 100 might be abit big as seen someone much bigger than me had 100. I must have measured wrong Ill take a look at the selfridges site, or ill have to make a trip to try it on. Thanks for the advice
Gucci is well known for eclectic and contemporary luxury products, such as clothing, shoes, handbags, sunglasses, and other accessories for men, women, and children. More and more people choose to buy Gucci online due to the lower price, convenience, and more options available. But nothing is more disappointing than getting a fake Gucci at a regular price.
Buying online is very convenient, but sometimes it is difficult to know if the website you are visiting is legitimate. It is natural to wonder if you will be safe when buying from a website for the first time. Whois is a great tool for looking up historical information for any website: IP address, name server, registrar, and screenshot history.
Although the numbers themselves are easy to be forged, fake belts still leave clues on the numbers. Fake serial codes are usually more stretched out and further from the belt loop. The real ones are usually smaller and are placed closer to the loop.
Gucci places all serial numbers and codes inside the body of the belt. In the brand tag, the first line indicates the style number of the belt, the second represents the art number. The third line conveys the size of the belt, centimeters, and inches, respectively. The fourth line of numbers shows the supplier code. You can find the example in the serial number of Gucci Womens Belt Leather 105cm Black 370543 CWC1G 1000.
You will find the sequential codes stamped horizontally in the center on more established Gucci belts, as shown in the picture above. The belt size must be included in the serial number and must not be printed elsewhere on the belt; some fake belts usually have the size printed on the tail leather without a buckle.
It is worth noting that the serial number is only an auxiliary measure to identify the authenticity of the Gucci belt. Many articles suggest checking the serial number on the Gucci official website. If your belt is not currently listed on the Gucci website, you will get the following response from Gucci customer service:
In Gucci Fake Belt, you can smell the unpleasant and noticeable odor that just because of the scammers sprayed smell like real leather. It might have happened because they have not been made belts correctly or have been treated poorly after manufacture. Of Course, the Real Gucci Belt does not have any unpleasant odor.
The tips above can help you quickly identify a poor-quality fake Gucci belt. These tips are judged from an objective perspective and do not require much experience. But there are some fakes, and the artistry is exquisite. This requires us to master the following tips.
You can see a fake Gucci Marmont belt by looking closely at the buckle. Fakes will often appear too bright or orange and can look polished or lacquered. But the real Gucci belt has semi-opaque and looks a bit aged/tarnished. It does not consist of super perfect gold. And of course, Real Gucci Belt buckles are heavy and thick as compared to fake ones.
You may quickly notice the pin on the Gucci belt GG buckle. You can differentiate between real and fake pin by checking the thickness of the pin that is attached inside the buckle GG. The fake ones are too large as real has much smaller.
Most models have screws on the back of the belt buckle. Inspect the back of the belt buckle for any noticeable screws. If you buy a gold Gucci belt, then also inspect the color of that screw. The color of the screw should also be gold, not silver. When it comes to belt loops, be careful with screws. Gucci belts usually have the loops that are sewn on, which involves a lot more work and a trained hand. Most fake belts use screws to attach the loop to the body of the belt.
All authentic newer Gucci belts must come in an off-white dust bag. The bag inside should have a Gucci Made in Italy tag stitched on the corners. You can put your finger under the label from all sides. The fabric must be made of silk. Usually the fake dust bag is completely sewn on the sides, so you cannot slide your fingers underneath of the label.
