I could see that my 15 plus selfie camera images are turning way darker once the photo is clicked. It gives clean bright image before clicking. Once the photo is taken the photo turns darker and the background goes bright. Seems after processing the photo turns dark. Any settings to correct this? Please provide suggestions.
I just bought the iphone 15 pro max last week and am so disappointed with the selfie camera. The pics on my 11 were much better than this. Everything I have taken on the 15 pro max is dark and grainy and distorted. Horrible. Why is this happening? Apple, will you fix? I now hate my new phone.
I have an iPhone 15 Pro and having the same problem with my front camera dullness. I took your advice, contacted Apple Support, did the analytics & diagnostic test, and did a reformat, and the problem still persists.
To the extent, I went to the Apple tech store and the technician did the same test again, the results were all good, but the front camera was still dull, and was told nothing was wrong since the test was all green light.
I have the same problem with the front camera, it's terribly blurry and not of a quality level . that even the iPhone X I had was better, even on Instagram the photo comes out with a hum of bright lighting, sometimes it helps and sometimes it goes back to being blurry. Also in video calls there is blurring. The company I bought from even changed me to a new phone because they thought the camera was faulty, I thought the problem would indeed be solved but unfortunately it wasn't. I am very disappointed that I bought the phone and am not able to enjoy it, I am only busy with the bureaucracy with the supplier and there is no answer. I would appreciate an answer on what Apple can do about it.
i recently bought an iphone 15 pro. Even i have this issue. The front camera is really bad - photos are dark and grainy. this is really an issue which is being highlighted in other apple forums and on reddit as well.
AND, very similar to this bug, when using SELFIE camera toy, if you press 1 to take a picture it starts SPAMMING pictures nonstop (and taking multiple screenshots, yes) until you press any other button or quit selfie mode.
I ended up returning the phone. It was an Asurion warranty replacement that just never worked right consistently. They sent a new phone everything seems okay now. My guess is you will need to have them replace that phone as something just is not right anymore. My guess is the camera just can't take abuse and is never the same even if reconditioned. The first phone with a dysfunctional camera was a reconditioned phone the replacement that works is a new phone.
I am having same issue with my droid MAXX... I installed various different camera apps and they all have the same problem.. I have tried all sorts of fixes and I am stuck in the selfie mode.. I am a few months from getting rid of this phone and trying to get Verizon to accelerate so I can switch to a samsung galaxy phone
Lets get your camera working picture perfect again. Are you completely up to date with your phone software? Lets do a couple things here to see about getting this fixed. First lets clear the app cache . Next we want to take all those 3rd party apps out of the equation & try the camera using the camera app that came with the phone. To do this lets put the phone in safe mode & try the camera while in safe mode . Please let us know the results.

On my phone and about 3/4 of my colleagues phone it works properly, however, on a couple of my colleagues phone it uses the selfie camera, and when you go to toggle between the camera, it doesn't toggle to the rear camera.
The purpose of forcing an app to use the selfie camera is to ensure that the app uses the front-facing camera instead of the rear-facing camera. This is useful for apps that require the user to take a selfie or use facial recognition technology.
The method for forcing an app to use the selfie camera may vary depending on the device and operating system. Typically, you can go to the app's settings and select the option to use the front-facing camera. Some devices also have a quick toggle in the notification bar to switch between cameras.
It is not possible to force all apps to use the selfie camera by default. Apps have their own settings and preferences for camera usage, and it is ultimately up to the app developer to decide which camera to use.
Fujfilm has always been popular with the selfie-loving, blogging set. Beautifully styled retro aesthetics, combined with attractive in-camera film presets and pocketable designs make cameras such as the Fujifilm X-A5 a real hit.
Even if i try to take photos from mirror with back camera still too much overexposure. Now i compare my old pictures with s10 and s10 took much better pictures....my skin tone was just right in every picture with front and back camera.
If you haven't noticed an improvement when changing the Selfie Colour Tone (Camera > Settings > Selfie Colour Tone > Choose Bright or Natural) then please check out Advanced Face Retouch to see if this helps. Open the Camera app > Switch to the front facing camera > Effects (top right icon) > Face, and adjust the settings to your preference.
This is a ESP32 board with built-in OV2640 camera and 240 x 240 IPS LCD. Camera application require extra memory, so it also built-in 8 MB PSRAM and micro SD card slot. And it also built-in Lipo charging and regulation circuit. So it is ready to build a digital camera out-of-the-box!
Hi, I did uncomment that line, and get the webcam server to work. But, not the screen on the cam board, as the codes are for SSD130 OLED and not ST7789. I tried to mod the codes to ST7789 but no luck so far, as I am not familiar with the programming.
Just wonder if I can use some of your codes for the selfie camera to make to work. Have you tried it before? A webcamera with local screen working would be an interesting application for this camera board. Appreciate if you can provide some advices. Thanks
Great! I made it work with my TTGo Plus, but the pictures won't save in the SD Card. Do you know why this could be happening?
And, it would be great if you could tell me where can I find the original code that came with the camera, so I can go back to use it for video -streaming. I've been looking everywhere.
Thanks a lot!!!
A front-facing camera, commonly known as a selfie camera, is a common feature of cameras, mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and some handheld video game consoles. While stand-alone cameras face forward, away from the operator, tablets, smartphones and similar mobile devices typically have a camera facing the operator to allow taking a self-portrait photograph or video while looking at the display of the device, usually showing a live preview of the image. These are called front-facing cameras and are important for videotelephony and the taking of selfies.[1][2][3][4] Often, the preview image is by default a mirror image, which is more intuitive for most people; this default can be overridden, and in any case the recorded image is not reversed.
While not a dedicated front-facing camera, the Casio QV-10 digital camera featured a lens that rotated 180 degrees. Introduced in 1995 it was the first consumer digital camera with a color LCD display. This allowed for the user to point the camera at themself while viewing the LCD display.
The first front-facing camera phone was the Kyocera Visual Phone VP-210, released in Japan in May 1999.[6] It was called a "mobile videophone" at the time,[7] and had a 110,000-pixel front-facing camera.[6] It stored up to 20 JPEG digital images, which could be sent over e-mail, or the phone could send up to two images per second over Japan's Personal Handy-phone System (PHS) wireless cellular network.[6]
Several mobile phones with front-facing cameras were released to Western markets in 2003, including the NEC e606,[8] NEC e616,[9] Sony Ericsson Z1010[10] and Motorola A835.[11] The front-facing camera was originally intended for video-conferencing.[12] The Motorola A920 was released in 2003 as well and may have been the first smartphone with a front-facing camera.[13]
In May 2017, the Essential Phone introduced the notch - the removal of part of the display to accommodate the front-facing camera. The iPhone X popularized this concept after its introduction in late 2017.As of 2019, several smartphones incorporate front cameras that pop up from within the smartphone to allocate the area that would be otherwise utilized by notches to the screen.[14][15] Under-display cameras are under development, which would place a camera under a special display that would allow the camera to see through the display.[16][17][18][19]
With millions of selfies uploaded to the internet every day, the humble selfie camera is putting in some serious work. It's little surprise that manufacturers are pouring lots of money into making your selfie-snapping as easy and enjoyable as possible, while trying not to sacrifice the design of the phone itself.
