Hiall, hoping for a little help here...

Taking a shower recently, the water slowed and stopped. A few seconds later, it re-pressurized and was fine for a few minutes until it repeated the cycle.

With the shower running, I watched the pressure gauge at the pressure tank in the basement. When the pressure got to 20psi, the needle very quickly falls to 0 and then when the tank switches on again the needle very quickly jumps to 20 and then does its usual climb to the high cutoff point. The tank functions fine through the cycle, except for when it gets to 20 and drops. If the water is not running, the tank holds the pressure just fine. This is affecting all faucets in the house. I changed my purification filter after I noticed this happening, but it has had no effect.

It is not waterlogged, but it only has a 20 psi air charge. As long as there is water in the tank the air charge will push it out, but when the water is gone, the pressure drops from twenty to zero almost instantly. Your pressure switch is out of adjustment and it is not turning the pump on until the pressure drops below 20 psi, but at that point you are out of water until the pump starts again. Almost as soon as water starts entering the tank, the pressure rises to 20 psi, because that is the air pressure in it. Adjust your pressure switch, or find out why it is responding slowly if it is set at 40 psi or so.
