Ifollowed the steps outlined in the article posted by Alexander to no avail (including several repair and re-sinstallations of Command Center). I bought the laptop new and started noticing strange behavior a couple of weeks ago when the power button would cycle through all of the colors available.

Thank you so much for this answer! My husband and I had just re-imaged our computer and we were still having issues with the command center. I followed your instructions completely and it worked like a charm. Thank you thank you thank you.

And what about if my system according to service tag don't have any command center applications? And it's not compatible with any of other versions etc.? I can't control any of fn buttons after windows 10 update, with windows 7-8 i found some version that worked properly and even had osd working properly, but now can't do anything.

Update: I did a fresh install of windows and immidiatly installed TD. It was working fine, up until the point I started installing drivers. I am suspecting that alienware command center might be causing this . I just did a sencond windows install and Td is working again(fingers crossed) .

I am having the same issue. I uninstalled Alienware Command Center and will try again, but my preference would be to have both installed in the future. Let us know when this is resolved! Thanks for the help.

I am using an ASUS ROG G703 PC laptop. (Intel Core i7-8750H CPU 2.20 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080) I followed the steps to remove any visible bloatware and disable apps on a start. I do see that there are a bunch of apps running in the background, including Armory Crate that I did not dare to remove, but no other apps besides TouchDesigner are running actively. I also made sure that my external monitor refresh rates are 60Hz. Right now, it is not an issue and I can totally work from my main laptop screen, but it would be great to know if there is a fix for this. Maybe my laptop is not set up properly, it could be also an issue on my end.

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum, I just replaced the motherboard of my alien (the old one made the famous 8 beeps of death). Basically with the new motherboard the alien FX doesn't work anymore, whatever operating system you install doesn't change anything. I have the latest bios available for my laptop and have tried reinstalling the command center several times. Does anyone know what I can do?

I'm currently having a similar issue with an M17x R3 that I'm working on. I've tried all the fixes but nothing has worked so I'm assuming the AlienFX chip is toast on mine, hopefully yours is something simple though.

Hello! Thank you for your reply. So I do not remember exactly how many beeps ago the old motherboard but I showed it by several technicians who told me that it was to be replaced. As for yes, I have version 2.8.8.0 of awcc, net framework installed and visual c++ ditto, I do not know what else to try, I'm afraid I have your same problem

Any update from an older version would result in failure. I completely uninstalled the older version, deleted all the directories (as per Dell Support instructions) and tried to do a clean install but it just refuses to comply. No version would install anymore. Please help. Adding log file details of two versions that I tried installing.

I'd greatly appreciate if anyone can help me with this. This problem has become a thorn in my back since I cannot control fans unless I install AWCC and no fans means the PC gets insanely hot when I run resource-hungry applications.

Have you tried to install a previous version of the command center software? The log indicates that it can't find a value, so either one of two things, either the software package is corrupt or something else is stopping it. So either try downloading a new copy, or a different version, or from an elevated command prompt run SFC/scannow and see if it finds any errors.

I have tried as early as the February 2020 version, which had worked back in its days without any significant flaws. I've tried downloading multiple packages multiple times but the error persists. I'll give SFC a try.

I try to download the Alienware command center and it says that I have an error. This problem has persisted for some time now. I couldn't redownload the command center after deleted it because it wasn't working. I need help with this and soon. My keyboard and mouse have colors I don't like and I can't figure out how much charge my mouse has. I have a G 5 Desktop from dell.
