What is the difference between master and develop branch?

What is the difference between master and develop branch? Is the active development or pull request happen on master or develop branch?

Hi Henry,

We follow this closely: http://nvie.com/posts/a-successful-git-branching-model/

All active dev and PR go to the develop branch. The master branch contains stable releases.
