Hi Jennifer --
Wow, nice growth numbers! Feels like the PM Clusters and prediction
markets are on the threshold of the network effect...
Adoption, deployment and success of innovations like collective
intelligence networks and enterprise prediction markets require
specific conditions to be present and to be continuously developed.
There are a number of models. The one we like, and have used for
decades, is, of course, the famous Diffusion of Innovations by Everett
Rodgers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffusion_of_innovations
The PM Cluster model has modified and adapted the five stages of
Diffusion - knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation,
confirmation - to best suit the commercial enterprise and consumer
markets to achieve broad, high velocity transformation. Over years of
diverse modalities of adoption of innovation for the enterprise and
consumers, these properties below work the best. They are the
foundation of the PM Cluster’s Next Practices.
They are:
• Awareness (discoverability, knowledge);
• Transactions (purchase, activation);
• Conversations (diffusion, adoption);
• Relationships (confidence, growth);
• Collaboration (success, achievement).

Web sites, search engines and social media provide awareness, for
example. Prediction market application vendors and markets furnish the
transaction capability. Proximate interaction drives persuasion,
diffusion and adoption. Authentic conversations drive tacit know-how
and social network adoption. Diverse, robust relationships propels
word-of-mouth assuring confidence and growth. Finally, deliberate
collaboration equips people for success and high achievement with
collective intelligence and prediction market innovation.
At this stage of the prediction market diffusion curve proximate
conversations are especially important. They are fundamental to co-
creation of the market transformation for widespread intelligence and
systemic prescience. Prediction market prospects, clusters and
communities deliberately and actively provision and nurture the key
properties of awareness, conversation, relationship and collaboration.
These activities are open, constructive and essential. They assure the
success of suppliers, practitioners, managers, traders, leaders, and
stakeholders through the all stages of the prediction market adoption
and diffusion lifecycle.
Cheers,
-j
