Prediction Markets Group Charter:

The Prediction Market Clusters, founded by sponsors in 2004 in Silicon
Valley, are the global commons and open community for prediction
markets and collective intelligence networks worldwide. The open,
agnostic, sponsor-owned community is a focused action/research
collaboration network of vendors, academia, traders, enterprise users,
developers, markets, regulators and stakeholders. All are welcome. The
goal is to provide Next Practices, awareness, diffusion, commercial
adoption and pull-through for enterprise, institutional and consumer
prediction markets. Besides online community, the PM Clusters conduct
popular, distributed retreats for enterprise prediction markets,
Wisdom of Crowds, collective intelligence networks and collaborative
forecasting worldwide. Contact: Jennifer Hulett, 714-458-3826, for
more information.

The PM Clusters supports the creation of new, diverse and focused
communities. New social media for prediction markets research, theory,
vertical markets, scholarship, and so forth is welcome, encouraged and
expected.

Meanwhile, the laser-like focus of your applied PM Clusters remains on
attracting and assuring the success of commercial enterprise users,
institutional markets, PM consumers and traders. This is achieved by
open and deliberate development of commercial and consumer prediction
market ecosystems. The simple outcome is far greater reach, growth and
prosperity for all PM Cluster sponsors, participants and
stakeholders.

Also, a lot of people asked for the correct PM Cluster link to use in
all your Web properties, blogs and other social media. It is below.

Hi Jennifer --

Wow, nice growth numbers! Feels like the PM Clusters and prediction
markets are on the threshold of the network effect...

Adoption, deployment and success of innovations like collective
intelligence networks and enterprise prediction markets require
specific conditions to be present and to be continuously developed.
There are a number of models. The one we like, and have used for
decades, is, of course, the famous Diffusion of Innovations by Everett
Rodgers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffusion_of_innovations

The PM Cluster model has modified and adapted the five stages of
Diffusion - knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation,
confirmation - to best suit the commercial enterprise and consumer
markets to achieve broad, high velocity transformation. Over years of
diverse modalities of adoption of innovation for the enterprise and
consumers, these properties below work the best. They are the
foundation of the PM Cluster’s Next Practices.

They are:

• Awareness (discoverability, knowledge);
• Transactions (purchase, activation);
• Conversations (diffusion, adoption);
• Relationships (confidence, growth);
• Collaboration (success, achievement).

http://www.pmcluster.com/

Web sites, search engines and social media provide awareness, for
example. Prediction market application vendors and markets furnish the
transaction capability. Proximate interaction drives persuasion,
diffusion and adoption. Authentic conversations drive tacit know-how
and social network adoption. Diverse, robust relationships propels
word-of-mouth assuring confidence and growth. Finally, deliberate
collaboration equips people for success and high achievement with
collective intelligence and prediction market innovation.

At this stage of the prediction market diffusion curve proximate
conversations are especially important. They are fundamental to co-
creation of the market transformation for widespread intelligence and
systemic prescience. Prediction market prospects, clusters and
communities deliberately and actively provision and nurture the key
properties of awareness, conversation, relationship and collaboration.
These activities are open, constructive and essential. They assure the
success of suppliers, practitioners, managers, traders, leaders, and
stakeholders through the all stages of the prediction market adoption
and diffusion lifecycle.

Cheers,

-j
