After installing CCLeaner on my Android I tried to open the app and received a message stating that "this app is supported by personalized advertising blah, blah, blah". So why am I paying for a 1 year subscription advertised as supporting 3 devices including an Android and I still have to pay an additional fee to upgrade to avoid adds. Where is the "Truth in Advertising" with this.
The confirmation email does have a link to install ccleaner on your andriod device but unfortunatly it goes through google store to install. The first screen you get states "This app is supported by personalized advertising. The paid version allows you to opt out of adds, CCleaner marketing and analytics". After installing you have 2 options (continue with adds or upgrade now).
If this is all about google then CCLeaner needs to create their own downloadable app or make it clear that there is an additional google monthly charge to use their app without the adds on your android. If you read the reviews on the version with adds their is a lot of complaints about not being able to stop or hide the "very" lengthly adds on the CCleaner version with adds.
You always had to buy the Android version through the PlayStore, but from the current adverts for Pro Plus and Premium the impression is that they have finally managed to have it included with the bundle licence.
Uptodown is a multi-platform app store specialized in Android. Our goal is to provide free and open access to a large catalog of apps without restrictions, while providing a legal distribution platform accessible from any browser, and also through its official native app.
@Hovelinthe Hills: For assistance with the paid version of CCleaner for Android, please contact customer support at sup...@ccleaner.com with as much information as you can provide about the version of CCleaner that you are using, your phone model and OS version, if you purchased a stand-alone licence via Google Play or are using CCleaner for Android as part of a CCleaner Professional Plus or CCleaner Professional Premium multi-device licence, and the nature of the problem that you are experiencing.
After running a "Booster" option on my Samsung S9+ CCleaner for Android and choosing 40+ apps to hibernate, CCleaner happily reports them as "stopped", but within a few minutes to a couple of hours they are all being reported as Active, I then re-run the Booster option and stop them just to have them re-activate. It is frustrating in that I haven't opened ANY of them but they "wake up" again.
If the apps don't remain hibernated until you use them again, and also for less than say 4 hours, and you have to go into settings to force stop them, then it would seem to me that that part of ccleaner is a gimmick.
I think CCleaner hibernation .... may be a "gimmick" too, when I use it for my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 5e android tablet.....and here I was thinking TOTAL shutdown of these apps that I just put into Hibernation Mode.....until I used these apps again. So, I guess only option left is to Turn Off in that app itself...it almost always says it in some manner..."may effect other apps/ or performance of my device when I try to do this." I think that is mainly a harmless warning unless it is a system function related app of some kind. I do not know why CCLEANER PRO even offers it, unless pre-purchasers are drawn by that particular feature and NOT aware that this is only in reality wishful thinking, like me....that's not the main reason I bought it though, yet I felt it was a great feature until I tried it. Oh well, it is what it is.
Applications are able to start back up on their own. I have been able to get familiar with what apps start right back up, by themselves, and what apps do not in my device specifically... I also have learned that hibernating or force closing some other apps, especially apps in which you don't have much knowledge about can cause certain features on your device to stop working until the app is either restarted or the device is restarted. On Motorola phones for instance, if you hibernate or stop the "Moto" app, your gestures to quickly turn your flashlight on and off, or the gesture to quickly open your camera with two flicks of your wrist will cease to work if you hibernate or force stop this "Moto"app. My best advice is to familiarize yourself as much as possible with what you're hibernating and force closing because more likely than not, an application you are hibernating is causing whichever issue you're blaming CCleaner for.
Just experienced a similar circumstance. Had set up a private file in photos on my Android Pix 2. Chose CClean and the option for free up space came up. W/O reading the fine print I hit enter. The files were permanently deleted and there is no apparent recovery option. The files are NOT in the Trash file. No app I downloaded was capable of finding the data/videos including Recuva (a ccleaner product). Seems to me that this issue would have come any number of times by any number of subscribers/users and Piriform would add a - STOP, before you continue -- statement !!!!
Anyone with know how pls respond
Thinking outside of the box, in regards to negotiations with Google, for those of us who have purchased a Professional product license, one way to resolve this for those customers, in the short-term, would be to offer a special add-on price that provides greedy Google (like they're not already wealthy enough) with their "cut" and whatever small sum Piriform wishes to also collect from us, if anything, for adding that platform to our existing license. This could be a reasonable "win-win" solution for all until such time as Google comes to their senses. I am ever hopeful in small miracles. Thank you!
I have used ccleaner successfully on my computer for several years but when I tried to use it on my android phone you deleted my photos. I was able to retrieve many of them but not the last eight months which contained photos that don't exist anywhere else and are of my daughter, whom I have not seen in five years (the photos were taken when she was giving a speech online that I recorded). There are also photos of my grandchildren which are also not duplicated anywhere else. I am trying to find out how to retrieve them but no one has been successful in helping. I don't know why ccleaner would do this ---I use them for cleaning out viruses, junk, cookies etc. You have no business messing around with my photos. Is there anyway to retrieve them? I am very stressed about this.
The exact same thing happened to me on my android, CCleaner deleted all my photos and videos. I was so shocked and upset when it happened and actually couldn't believe that it did. Surely this is a fault with the app, it shouldn't be deleting personal files! I've been so stressed about it.
I tried CCleaner from Google Play Store, but hey asked for so many permisions, and didn't leave me any choices in deciding anything in the software. I didn't feel comfortable with this. I removed it, as soon as I finished installing it. Yes, it was free, but I like to have some say on what I put in my devices.
The first thing to note is that the genuine CCleaner for Android v1.11.42 was from 2015 and so is well out of date.
I doubt that it will work on Android 10. Your Samsung probably has an older Android.
You need to get the latest CCleaner for Android version from the Google Play Store.

And yes, the genuine CCleaner does need all those permissions to be able to clean Android properly.
'CC Cleaner' (as shown in your screenshot) is the name of a fake disguised to look like the real CCleaner name and trip up the unwary.
Avoid 'CC Cleaner' (with 3 'Cs'), the company responsible is know for copying legitimate product names to sell inferior software, and then scam you as well.
They copy other names as well as CCleaner, see this article:

If you are a paid CCleaner subscriber, all you need to do is reply to this email with your Cleverbridge order reference number. For customers of CCleaner for Android, this would be your GPA order number from your purchase via the Google Play app store. Providing us with these details helps us identify you, making it easier to get back to you as quickly as possible.
I have the same issue where i compressed photos, asked to keep originals. my files still have the .jpg with 0B but the patient states internal storage/DCIM/Optimized photos. still have blank photos. I am not a paid customer but have used this for many years, at my father's recommendation, who has also used for many years. If I can get these recovered, I will certainly consider purchasing if can help prevent this from happening again. thank you for your time!
I recently installed CCleaner on my Android 12 phone. How can I disable or remove the "floating" button that appears all the time (even when CCleaner is not open)? It is interfering with my view of other apps. The button does not seem to do anything when you press on it, and so I am also not clear what it is supposed to do. If I can't disable it, I will likely uninstall CCleaner.
After I did it, I got a black screen for longer than I expected. My phone restarted & I took away permission. Not sure if I'd recommend the deep clean without more information about what it is really doing.
Since you mentioned that was the specific reason you purchased the product, please feel free to reach out to our support team at sup...@ccleaner.com if you would like to inquire about a refund, we'll be happy to get that sorted out for you.
In the permissions, inside my android smartphone, in "Display pop-up windows while running in background", it doesn't appear "allow" but "always allow" or "deny", it seems that the App does not understand that I am allowing it.
