At Planet Hollywood, we strive to be responsible stewards of our planet. From on-site composting and recycling programs to utilizing solar energy where possible, we are always mindful of our carbon footprint.
NASA's science, technology and mission management office for the exploration of exoplanets. The program's primary goals, as described in the 2014 NASA Science Plan, are to discover planets around other stars, to characterize their properties and to identify planets that could harbor life.
The Minor Planet Center (MPC) is the single worldwide location for receipt and distribution of positional measurements of minor planets, comets and outer irregular natural satellites of the major planets. The MPC is responsible for the identification, designation and orbit computation for all of these objects. This involves maintaining the master files of observations and orbits, keeping track of the discoverer of each object, and announcing discoveries to the rest of the world via electronic circulars and an extensive website. The MPC operates at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, under the auspices of Division F of the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
One Planet Living is a highly flexible sustainability framework that helps people and organisations live happy, healthy lives within the limits of the planet, leaving space for wildlife and wilderness.
The Living Planet Report 2022 is a comprehensive study of trends in global biodiversity and the health of the planet. This flagship WWF publication reveals an average decline of 69% in species populations since 1970. While conservation efforts are helping, urgent action is required if we are to reverse nature loss.
Climate change and biodiversity loss are not only environmental issues, but economic, development, security, social, moral, and ethical issues too. Industrialized countries are responsible for most environmental degradation but it is developing nations that are disproportionately impacted by biodiversity loss. We all have a role to play in building a nature-positive society that safeguards the planet for the good health of everyone.
WWF has created a youth edition of their 2022 Living Planet Report that uses engaging infographics and visuals to highlight the state of our planet and explain the causes of decline.

Finding fossils preserved from early Mars might tell us that life once flourished on this planet. We can search for evidence of cells preserved in rocks, or at a much smaller scale: compounds called biosignatures are molecular fossils, specific compounds that give some indication of the organisms that created them. However, over hundreds of millions of years these molecular fossils on Mars are subject to being destroyed or transformed to the point where they may no longer be recognized as biosignatures. Future missions must either find surface regions where erosion from wind-blown sand has recently exposed very ancient material, or alternately samples must be obtained from a shielded region beneath the surface. This latter approach is being taken by the ExoMars rover under development where drilled samples taken from a depth of up to 2 meters will be analyzed.
The complete planet is very large, so you may prefer to use one of several periodic extracts (individual countries or states) from third parties. GeoFabrik.de and BBBike.org are two providers of extracts with up-to-date worldwide coverage.
Because Uranus spins on its side at a tilt of about 98 degrees, it has the most extreme seasons in the solar system. For nearly a quarter of each Uranian year, the Sun shines over one pole, plunging the other half of the planet into a dark, 21-year-long winter.
Plant-for-the-Planet U.S., in collaboration with our global partner organizations, strives to empower young people worldwide in combating the climate crisis and restoring ecosystems. With dedication, we work towards nurturing a generation of proactive change-makers, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to fight for climate justice. Together, we are committed to fostering a sustainable future by restoring ecosystems and safeguarding our planet's biodiversity.
Times of crisis are times of opportunity. Now is the time for societies around the world to speak out for a happier planet, to identify a new vision of progress, and to demand new tools to help us work towards it.
If you have the AWS CLI tools installed, you can download directly from AWS in the EU Central 1 and US West 2 regions. This is faster than downloading normally[1]. The AWS bucket layout differs from the historical planet.openstreetmap.org layout, so you can see where the files are with
OSM data for the full planet is large. If you only want data for an area, you can download an extract that has that data only, extracted from the full planet file. Extract providers may also offer processed data in other formats.
A new version of planet.osm is released weekly (currently on Fridays). We have these, going back to the start of April 2006. Due to the license change to ODbL on September 12th 2012, older cc-by-sa licensed planet and diff files are only available in a dedicated folder with cc-by-sa licensed data.
