Stuart,

Any idea why I am still seeing .gdocdocument extension for my results
after installing 1.0.3? I had 1.0.3 originally installed. I then
installed a 1.0.2 version which allegedly changed the rescan interval
to 3 minutes. I upgraded to 1.0.3 and now I always see the file
extension. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Make absolutely sure that the only copy of Precipitate you have on
your computer is 1.0.3, throw away the Precipitate folder in ~/Library/
Caches/Metadata, and trigger a rescan. That will likely fix the
problem, although with LaunchServices involved it's hard to be sure.

Since 1.0.3 has a hidden preference to control the rescan interval,
there's no need to run someone else's custom build of an older version.

Sturat,

Removing the Precipitate folder in ~/Library/Caches/Metadata did the
trick! Thank you. Plus, I updated to 1.0.4 and it's working
beautifully. One last request: Can you explain how to get to the
hidden preference to control the rescan interval?

See the 1.0.3 announcement for the terminal commands to change the
interval:
