precipitate for edu versions of drive?

Hello, I'm running Snow Leopard and I would love to use precipitate with my nyu.edu account (a gmail/drive system). After I installed the preference pane though, it couldn't log in to that account. Are there any possible workarounds?

I'm not aware of any reason it shouldn't work with a hosted domain. What's the error message reported when you try to log in?
