The product works nicely for me but I am wondering if it's still in development. Very underrated I think.

Depends what you mean. I haven't worked on it recently, but it's not
abandoned--if it were to break I would fix it. I may add more features
in the future depending on my free time. Certainly if someone else
wanted to contribute code I'd be happy to review it.

If it's working well for you, what's your concern exactly?

great to hear that someone's taking care of it. wondering if it can be expanded to other items besides google docs to integrate them into spotlight. google groups, etc.

Theoretically, sure. It already supports multiple data sources (Docs,
PWA, Bookmarks), and was explicitly designed to be modular. In
practice I'm not likely to add any in the near future given my other
commitments--in fact, I've had Blogger half-implemented for over a
year now--but since Precipitate is open source it would be fairly
straightforward for someone with sufficient time and interest to
contribute code for new any sources that have a GData API.
