Login systematically failed

The refresh button is always disable with (a small animated gif on its
left)
The login always failes
In the console, I can read:

What can I do?

After reinstalling, I have an other error (but the same symptoms):

This error is harmless, so it's not related to the problems you are
seeing.

A few questions:
1) Has Precipitate ever worked for you, or is this the first time
you've tried it?
2) Is this a regular Google account, or an Apps-For-Your-Domain
account?
3) Are you using just the Docs source? If not, does Bookmarks work?
4) Are you seeing both an error in the list of sources with a data
after you tried to refresh, and the spinner at the same time? (The
expected behavior is that the spinner spins only while it's actually
doing the refresh, and once it either succeeds or hits an error, it
stops and the button re-enables)?
5) Are there any files at all in ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Precipitate/
com.google.precipitate.GoogleDocsSource (and does that folder even
exist)?
