I bought a Samsung Charge last September, loving it as best I could. Just recently I found out it did not have any type of gorilla glass on it, when after dinner, a family member knocked it off the table and it cracked in the bottom center where the samsung logo is located. I have never been one to break devices easily, so I was surprised a 3-4 foot drop could have caused such major damage. It goes from the logo to the top of the screen with cracks extending throughout.

Your best bet would be to research a place that can repair (replace) your screen. This will, AFAIK, leave you without a warranty, but that already happened when you dropped your phone. I have not experienced this myself, so I don't know what kind of warranties places may provide on the new screen. While there are many YouTube videos that walk you through the process of doing it yourself, I wouldn't recommend going that route. One thing to watch out for is, make sure the repair place uses OEM parts instead of generic. They will be more pricey, but at least you know they will work. As an alternative, you could purchase an OEM screen, then take it to a place to repair it.

Unfortunately, if you cancel your contract, your number will be lost (most likely). You could always call customer service and see if they can transfer it for you, but I doubt it. For the future, I would certainly recommend keeping your newest "old" phone for situations like these. I have the insurance, but I hold onto my last phone so that I at least have something to use if I have to wait for a replacement. Good luck, I hope you get this figured out.

You could also add a line, but be sure to know the costs of doing so. Your bill after adding a line will be high because of pro-rated charges. You could cancel your current line once the contract runs out, but you would lose your number.

Mission repair originally had a repair for 100 for the phone, as of yesterday when I looked again that price sky rocketed to 259 dollars, so I kinda find it pointless to get repaired that way when the termination fee was less.

this will be your cheapest route. i also like budone's idea. however, you are looking at an activation fee, 12 months at $10/month for a line you don't need, the cost of the new phone, plus taxes and fees. before you know it, you're at about $400 in total, and are locked in to another 2 years. you could likely find a brand new charge for less than that. now....if there's a new phone that really want anyhow, i may prefer this route (like if you REALLY wanted the galaxyS III or the razr maxx or something). but if you were happy with the charge, i would just pick one up on ebay.

Yes, your mobile insurance covers all accidental screen damages, no matter who is using it. This is because mobile insurance is connected to the IMEI of the mobile so that no matter who uses it or damages it, it will be covered.

XMC covers your device, standard battery, standard charger and SIM (if applicable to your device). Accessories included in the original device packaging, such as a stylus pen, are covered in the event of an incident simultaneously affecting both the device and the accessory.

XMC is available for customers who purchase Apple and Android smartphone and tablet devices associated with active lines of Xfinity Mobile service. If you deactivate your line of service, your device is no longer covered by XMC.

The monthly cost, plus applicable tax, per device, will appear as an individual line item on your Xfinity Mobile bill. You'll also be charged any applicable service fees/deductibles directly by Assurant once your claims are approved.

Your device will be repaired with reconditioned parts or replaced with a similar reconditioned device. If a reconditioned device isn't available, we'll replace it with a new model of like kind and quality. Device color may vary depending on availability.

You have 10 business days to return the damaged device. Details on how to return the device will be provided. If the device is not returned, you will be charged an unrecovered equipment fee no greater than the value of the replacement device plus applicable shipping costs.

Be sure to have your Xfinity Mobile account and device information including device make, manufacturer, model, and serial number, and last four digits of credit card on the account. Be ready to provide details about the cause, location, and date of the claim incident. Be prepared to pay your service fee/deductible, which will be collected using credit or debit card once your claim is approved. You can also pay by eCheck where accepted.

Visit fastclaim.com/xfinitymobile to learn more about the claims process, file a claim, or track an existing claim. You can also file a claim 24/7 using the Xfinity Mobile Care by Assurant app. See How do I file an insurance claim through the XMC? for information.

For accidental damage (all other) and loss or theft, the program allows you up to three covered claims within a rolling 12-month period based on the date of first repair/replacement. Maximum coverage per claim is the purchase price or replacement value of the covered device (whichever is lower) less any applicable service fee.

Have you ever wondered whether phone insurance is worth it? New flagship devices from Apple and Samsung cost a pretty penny and are expensive to fix. We Brits have a history of dropping phones. If this sounds like you this article may be just what you need. This page covers all the basics allowing you to make the most informed decision and some alternative things you may not be aware of.

At Mobile Screen Fix we see this a lot as we get the pleasure of opening up lots of phones.

If your phone is damaged or develops a fault, in the majority of cases insurers will try to have it repaired by companies like ours or provide you with a refurbished phone rather than giving you a replacement.

In either case when dealing with insurance claims this process can take up to 7 days from the day of reporting to having your device back, so be prepared to be without your device.
