Photoshop does not start on my laptop. It works fine on my desktop, the laptop gets an error message like the following "Adobe Photoshop requires Windows 10 Anniversary update (version 1607) or latter. Upgrade for free to a newer version to run Photoshop". However, my windows update setting say that I already have the latest update installed and if I click "check for updates" the only response I get is "Your device is up to date".
Yes just like Ged said, I did not have the latest version of windows, and just like you said the windows update tool is not reliable. Thank you for the help! If you have a tip for updating manually i'm all ears
There were also huge changes to the UI in CS4 and overall, it was a lot more simplified. The introduction of tabbed documents allowed users to work on multiple documents at once with ease (much like the introduction of tabbed browser windows in web browsers).
I haven't had access to photoshop in a few years, and I don't especially miss it because of Pixlr. I'm not exactly an advanced user of graphic design products, so I can't speak to that level... But for basic image editing and creation, this gets the job done.
Pixlr is used by our organisation as a cheaper and more accessible version of photoshop. We use it to create graphics for our campaigns, as well as posters, report covers and other visual content for our work.
I've got the exact issue here. Can't open an image in photoshop from Lightroom. The first time I googled a solution someone said I would have to reinstall photoshop. So I uninstalled it. But here, in this remote area, it might take me 2 days to reinstall it. Luckily I have the beta version I can work with. It might take me 15 to 20 minutes to get a photo from LR to Photoshop. What a pita.
And in my preferences > external editor, I too have only "Photoshop 2024" to choose from.
Interesting sidenote: I uninstalled photoshop and reinstalled it. Now I do have two choices in my external editor. Photoshop 2023 and Photoshop 2023. I changed it to open Photoshop 2023. However, that does not fix the issue. It still sits and waits and eventually give me numerous error message saying "It cannot open photoshop 2024." But after 10 to 15 minutes, it does open it, in photoshop beta.
Even before this, when I was in L.R. and sent an image to photoshop, it always opened the beta version instead of the regular version. The only way I can get it to open in the regular version is open that version beforehand. Then, and only then will it open the image in the regular version of photoshop. I never was able to fix that issue and it was discussed at length on this site, but no solution was found.
Apparently, like many, I will need to wait for Adobe to address this issue (getting error messages, etc) in an update before it can be fixed?
