Dear Prayer Supporters,

It feels like a very long time since I have come back from my prayer
retreat in Hong Kong and my little vacation in Taipei, but in reality
it has been only three weeks. My wrong perception of time may be due
to the amount of things that have already happened since I returned.
Yes, November has been an eventful month.

Nov 15: I lead the members of the Jubilant in an intense session of
worship, where they were encouraged to engage in a time of deep soul-
searching, confession and repentance. After praying for individually
for more than ten of them I feel spiritually exhausted, but at the
same time filled with great joy because of the transformation I saw in
their lives. I truly feel that their growth is indeed the glory of
our ministry.

Nov 19: I spoke at the "God is Better than Sex" Rally organized by
UBCCCF. Because of the rain, the originally outdoor activity was
forced to relocate to an indoor venue, limiting its exposure.
Nonetheless, to those who vowed to keep their sexual purity that day,
it was a deeply touching moment as they all read out their vows loudly
before God. They had also made a noticeable presence on the web now.
I know this is not the end of a term of hard work, but the beginning
of a new student movement. I prayed that God will continue to move
the students on campus and arise a new generation of student
missionaries.

Nov 21: I attended the wedding of our Associate Staff Lorraine Cheung
and Mr. Ken So. Knowing the difficulties that they have been through
in the last few months, and the difficulties that they will be facing
ahead, I praise God for His wonderful grace that these two find young
man and woman can stand in front of His altar and commit their lives
to each other.

Nov 22: I together with a few teenagers at church led worship that
morning in order to train them to be worship leaders. It is a delight
working with them. I do not have much to offer them in terms of music
and singing techniques, but I hope to help them understand the
importance of a vibrant spiritual life for a worship leader. I have
been working with them for only 2 months and I have already seen a lot
of improvement in them. Their growth in the spirit is evident in
their praise leading.

Nov 29: I preached at the "Sold to Sex, Bought to Love" Conference
held by AFC. The attendance of the events was less than expected.
Since we were explicit that we were going to discuss about sexual
struggles, I felt that many people were unable to directly confront
their sins and thus unwilling to attend the event. Even for those who
were here, many were struggling intensely as we called them to repent
and commit to a sexually pure life. Yet I believe sexual purity is
one of the key foundations for the much anticipated spiritual revival
of the next generation. We shall continue to pray for the arising of
a holy generation to fight for the Lord.

Please continue to pray for me. I thank God for the renewal I
received during my prayer retreat in Hong Kong, and the new pattern of
prayer and scripture reading He installed in me. I pray that the Lord
will keep the fire burning in me, and that I (and our students) be
well prepared when His great revival arrives.

In Christ,
Alan Yu
