to Prayer Support for Alan C. Yu
Dear Prayer Supporters,
It has been over 2 days since we concluded Teleios, the first student
revival camp organized by AFC at Hope, BC. So much happened during the
four-day camp and I am still a bit overwhelmed to consolidate my
experiences into words. May be the following reflections from some of
the participants will help you get a glimpse of Teleios:
"Even though I have been a Christian for eleven years, I have never
experienced something similar before. I heard this camp was going to
be very intense, and I hesitated on whether to come or not. In the
end, I decided to come, and I feel very blessed that God gave me the
opportunity to come to this camp.
God is really amazing. I never knew that prayer and faith could be so
powerful. I have never prayed so much within a short period of time
before, and I finally realized how important praying out loud is. God
has the ability to change ANYTHING. Praise the Lord! I have finally
let go of something I have been struggling for the past two years.
This also made me realize how other Christians suffer the same
problems in their churches, families, and their views on different
things. The worship time was really emotional as well, as everyone was
praising the Lord with all their heart and soul. God always speaks to
me whenever I am willing to hear His voice.
This camp has changed my life, and I am willing to be revived again."
"Teleios was like taking a dirty bottle, turning it completely upside
down, pouring every bit out, and then refilling it with clean water.
Teleios was like a sculptor working with a piece of stone. He's been
working with small pieces and sanding little bits for a while, but
then with one fell swoop he chiseled a big block off. From just
observing it, you're shocked at how dramatic, how unexpected, and how
large that action was.
Thud.
I don't think any of us would understand it until the sculptor works
some more, and you start to see more of the shape.
For now, you're just looking at the block on the floor, shocked,
waiting for the artist to continue with his work.
Would I recommend it for you? No, not if you want to be comfortable.
No, not if you enjoy of your life in its current shape. No, not if you
are expecting a bunch of emotional and intellectual intoxication and
pleasure. Seriously, don't go - you'll be left with a haunting sense
of longing. A thirst. A desire to change your ways.
You may fall head over heels, deliriously in love again."
I can only thank God for the amazing work achieved in the camp. It is
absolutely not my human effort but by his mighty power. Seeing the 20+
participants kneeling on the ground for over an hour fervently praying
for the revival of our city and churches on the final night, I know
that we are indeed still hopeful.
Thanks for all the prayers you put in for us. Please continue to pray
for the follow up of these fine young disciples. There are still lots
of work to be done, as revival is coming soon. We have to be prepared.
For the glory of His name.
Please also remember AFC's finance in your prayer, as pay cheques for
August have to be withheld due to the accumulated deficit.
Blessings,
Alan Yu
