Dear Prayer Supporters,
About 3 years ago, I started a small prayer meeting with a few
brothers and sisters to pray for the revival of the city. We meet
every Saturday morning at 9am. At first there were about 5-6 people,
but the attendance dropped as we don't really feel like we were making
any difference. We stopped after about a year. But deep down I knew
that revival has to be coming (as I'd seen in a vision from God), it
was just not the right time yet.
Finally, the time has come.
In August, I shared with 2 pastors about the coming revival. They
asked me, why do you think this is the time? I said, just watch what
is happening:
- we hear from many youth fellowships that young people are yearning
to grow spiritually
- several youth fellowships in Vancouver have significant growth in
numbers over the past year
- attendance of UBCCCF grew 50% from last term
- SFUCCF restarted this semester with a core group of very passionate
students
- CCF at Douglas College is starting
- tens of students devoted themselves to full-time ministry at a
praise and worship event by ACM in September (I have not seen similar
things for over a decade)
- Western Canada Winter Conference received 1000+ early bird
registration
- Over 1000 students attended the 2 showings of 1040 documentary by
Jaeson Ma in October
These are just a glimpse of the whole picture. I have not mentioned
about the miraculous emotional restoration that is happening to many
individual students, and many other signs and wonders. The whole
spiritual atmosphere in Vancouver has changed in the last several
months. Something big is going to happen.
This new student movement is a movement of unity, prayer and mission.
Upon seeing this, 14 pastors in Vancouver (most of them working with
youth) got together and formed the Church Revival Youth Network
(C.R.Y.Network,
http://crynetwork.wordpress.com/ and
http://www.facebook.com/crynetwork)
in order to promote the student revival movement in Vancouver. We hope
to fan the flame among the students so that the fire will burn bigger
and longer. We organize monthly prayer meeting ("Revere") to gather
young disciples and pastors together to prayer for revival. 43 people
attended the first prayer meeting in October.
Please pray along with us for the revival of the city, for this will
be a brutal battle. But be assured that victory is assured.
Please also pray for the finance of AFC. We have missed a few pay
cheques recently. If you are willing to support us financially, please
do.
Blessings,
Alan Yu
