CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FROM INDIA: South Asia Economics Students' Meet, Sri
Lanka 2010

Every year the South Asian Economics Students Meet aimed primarily for
undergraduate students of Economics is held in a South Asian city. This is
an initiative of four collaborating universities, Ramjas College -University
of Delhi (India), University of Dhaka (Bangladesh), University of Colombo
(Sri Lanka) and Lahore University of Management Sciences (Pakistan).

This year the 7th Annual South Asian Economics Students Meet is being hosted
by University of Colombo, at Colombo, SRI LANKA on 29th and 30th of November
2010 with support from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. The theme of the
meet is “*ECONOMIC FREEDOM AND POVERTY REDUCTION IN SOUTH ASIA”.* The event
comprises 3 competitions- *paper presentation, quiz competition and budding
economist of South Asia. *

Participation is invited from colleges in India for all of the above
competitions. Interested students are expected to register for the
competition by providing required documents at *saes...@gmail.com* latest
by *27 August 2010* for the paper presentation and *20 August 2010* for the
Budding Economist.

Kindly find attached the details of the two competitions-paper presentation
and the budding economist.
As guidance to *economic freedom index*, the students are encouraged to
refer to the Annual Reports of World Economic Freedom,* *published by the
Fraser Institute. The most recent report, authored by James Gwartney and
Robert Lawson (2009), is the *Economic Freedom of the World: Annual Report
