Dear Anshu,

No need for mails. I think by leaving the club you did yourself a
favour. If you really feel things are not in your hands your role has
become redundant. Group politics have thier own agenda. If you do not
fit into it you should go solo or if it doesnt work you should quit. I
think there is no need for a formal resignation. However, bringing it
to everybody's notice does serve some purpose. It atleast reminds us
of the fact that you need a group to survive and that world is not
perfect. I don't know what you expect from a microinitiative and if
your ideas are really that appealing you should be able to find some
buyers for the same. In any case, in future you will encounter various
sittuations where group politics are rampant and even worse than that
in Prayaas. I guess you may need to plan for that too.
Your public resignation also smacks of personal pride and some form or
self importance. If that was your position while writing this mail I
really feel sorry for you, but hard luck, nobody will hardly even
worry about it. Maybe if you were a cute little toddler people might
have stuck a lolipop in your mouth and cuchicooed you to sleep but you
are an adult man. Interestingly, what will people do when they find
there is group politics? even if you persuade people not to form
groups, how will you convince yourself that politics is over. And what
guarentees that people will listen to desperate pleas from some
gentle, caring seniors. If politics affects you so much you should
probably try becoming good at it. If you can't you can work
independantly and do what you want. I am actually not joking here but
stating the facts. In groups there are always internal clustering. You
just need to see how it works for you. You may feel I am supporting
group politics but I am just pointing out how things really work. It
is not a debate on facts like barack obama buying a blackberry to
watch naughty videos.
I do however feel that this might have been an enriching experience
for you and remind you that such mails really dont affect anyone. in
fact half the guys must have prepared a spam folder specifically for
your such mails.
Please take these words in a positive way and do well in your life.

Regards
Nada

Dear Friends

As far as Anshu's decision to leave the group is concerned,
I won't comment on it much. Its his personal decision and he
is very much entitled to it. My only comment will be that unlike
our engg or managerial field, in micro social initiatives like
Prayaas its not always possible to have measurable goals and
targets. Social/public initiatives don't function like that and its
a phenomena worldwide. Academically, this was the reason precisely why
the stream of management bifurcated into two(Public and private)
No matter how idealist we tend to be, we need to realise that we are
living and working in an imperfect world with imperfect people all around us.

Political grouping, if any, has creeped into Prayaas is highly objectionable.
Prayaas was meant to be a non partisan, creative and collective effort.
That is why, we did not keep any post or hierarchy in its setup.
Leaders take charge
on their own, they don't need any post or designation. Nada will agree
to it, as it was
our deliberate decision.

Any event, + or -, (in this case Anshu's decision) must be taken in
positive sense and must
force us to think.

As far as Prayaas' current activities are concerned, I think we need
to have more clarity
about what we want to do. This is was highlighted in many of my
previous mails but sadly,
I did not get any response/feedback/criticism from the group. Even a
note of dissent would have
been highly welcome.

Prayaas was conceptualised as a grassroot organisation working in the rural area
(one particular village) The aim was to make us aware about the
problems faced in
rural areas to make up for the disconnect the students of technical
institutes have.
At the same time, it was thought that after knowing the problems,
we will choose one particular area to work for(this job our batch
could not complete).
Our efforts went into institutionalising the program, building support
among the profs,
choosing a village etc. We had full confidence in our coming batches
to fulfill rest of the aims
and we still have.
Networking with other organisations is fine and necessary for any
social organisation to
strive and thrive. But any amount of networking or fame will have a
shelf life unless and until
it is backed with a strong grass root work, no matter how small it may be.

This is again my personal opinion and to a certain extent the founding
team's opinion.

Warm Regards

Dear friends and our respected seniors,

I understand your concern about the whole issue of so-called "politics" creeping into the group. But i would again like to quote the words of Ankit in the previous mail that Prayaas is a closely knit family and i feel we all agree to it. Its the combined effort of everyone from 1st yr to final yr and our seniors from where the very idea of this club came that we all have come so far. So let us not forget the very meaning and purpose of it and work together. And then we have such a wonderful guidance of persons like Pratyush and Nada sir and Ankit, who have never hesitated in extending their hands for giving out any help to us and helped in reaching it to even greater heights.

At the end, i would just like to aplogise for the little mis-communication which happened and prompted some members to write such a mail.

With best and kind regards,

Pallavi

Hello Anshu,

Mistakes makes us perfect. So thats ok if you have done a mistake. Most importantly you have realized it and work affirmatively to correct it.

Am really proud of you to see the courage inside you to highlight and realize both. I am sure you going to reach great heights.

Prayaas Team, hope all you guys would welcome him back with same love and affection.

I along with the graduated fraternity would always be there with you all.

Its not a great leader but a great team which make organizations/ efforts successful.

Love you all the Prayaas team

Yours Elder Brother

Ankit

P.S. One request to all, please write individual mails on this matter from now on.

Dear prayaas members,

Yes, Iam writing again, but this time it is only to redress what I wounded due to my misinformation & lack of communication.

The wounds are those inflicted by me on the reputation of our beloved club.

Though I feel that after this letter I wouldn't be taken seriously at all & would be considered a nonsensical person to have made a statement on a great platform without thinking twice about it.
This was pointed out to me by Navin Sir, whom I met after writing it. He calmly pointed out to me my shortcomings & the fact that I didn't consider talking about my seniors first, on which note I myself felt that he was absolutely correct & I had really taken a harsh & wrong step for a topic that did not command that much due as I gave it & got it out of hand.
For all that I seriously apologize & urge to everyone that we should not drop our faiths on the basis of what I said ( as I said I have become nonsensical), not add any more fuel to the fire that we all want so much to stop & continue to give our unconditional support & hard work to the cause for which we have originally come together for.

So, to all those whose time I took in this childish act of mine, I AM SORRY, & to the rest DO NOT FOLLOW ME.

I guess that is all I can say as I feel that I have lost my right to speak in the matter.

Yours Truly

VNIT

P.S. If all my seniors & fellow members feel that they can forget this as a folly of mine & can work shoulder to shoulder with me again, then I would be more than happy to come back, otherwise I think I have to pay for it.

Dear Anshu

Its one thing to make a mistake and another to accept it. We all make
mistakes, but very few have the alacrity to accept it and rectify. I
seriously appreciate your candid way of accepting it. And what makes
you think that you won't be taken seriously. Prayaas is not an
official committee, its a family consisting of people having similar
ideas and visions. Minor things/disagreements happen in any family.
That does not make you any less a part of the family.

You have got a wonderful team with Navin as the social secy and other
equally enthusiastic members.Only thing is that we need to have more
clarity on what we wan't to achieve and where do we want to see
Prayaas in say 5 yrs time. This clarity can come only when we all work
together (which we obviously do) and do some brainstorming. Its
neither difficult nor unattainable, keeping in view the wonderful set
of people you have.

We are always with you for any ideas/suggestions/help as your elder
brother. Don't ever hesitate in writing/speaking anything to us, even
if it constitutes our criticism. We may sometimes criticise also, but
that is what we call self criticism, meant to raise our bars.

With you all always

Pratyush
