Subject: Asia Youth Conference
Partners, Colleagues, and Friends,
This October 4-6, the Atlas Economic Research Foundation will be hosting its
Asia Youth Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia at the 5-star Sultan Hotel. We
will be inviting 25 young participants from around Asia for two full days of
lectures, workshops, and brainstorming sessions in order to provide them
with the skills they will need to spread the ideas of a free society in
their home countries.
We’ll discuss how to effectively use the media to spread libertarian ideas.
We’ll look at some case studies in which think tanks and individuals around
Asia have successfully pushed for government and economic reform. Other
young individuals working for economic and political change in Asia will
share their experiences and advice. And we’ll make sure there’s plenty of
time for socializing and brainstorming. Think of it as a crash course in
libertarian activism.
Our confirmed speakers include Dr. Parth Shah (Centre for Civil Society,
India), Dr. Tom Palmer (Atlas Economic Research Foundation, USA), Robin
Sitoula (Samriddhi, The Prosperity Foundation, Nepal), Chen Qinglan (iPencil
Economic Research Foundation, China), Mirsulzhan Namazaliev and Seyitbek
Usmanov (Central Asian Free Market Institute, Kyrgyzstan), Yavnika Khanna
(Liberal Youth Forum, India), and Guo Yushan (Transition Institute, China).
As this is our first year running such a conference, we’d like to ask local
partners and friends to recommend 4-5 individuals from their countries to
attend the event. Atlas will be paying for all conference related expenses,
including airfare, lodging, and meals. Participants will be expected to
arrive in Jakarta by the afternoon of October 4th and stay until the evening
of October 6th. Students have also been invited by the Naumann Foundation to
attend their Economic Freedom Network annual meeting immediately following
our conference, to be held in the same hotel October 7-8th. (See here for
more details:
www.efnasia.org) The Naumann Foundation has graciously agreed
to pay for all costs associated with attending the EFN meeting (meals and
lodging).

professionals are welcome to apply.
3) Have a clear interest in libertarian/liberal ideas, including the
