Hi All,

Just a quick note to say that the new Praxis LIVE website is now live at www.praxislive.org  Let me know if you see any issues.  Hopefully all the links and update checks from within the application are working correctly.

I've also been working on updating the manual and getting it online -

http://praxis-live.readthedocs.org
https://github.com/praxis-live/support/tree/master/docs (source files)

If anyone feels like contributing to the documentation process or the custom component repository, your input would be highly valued!

Thanks and best wishes,

Neil

hi Neil

wow. very cool. looks neat.
i've not had time to work with praxis for months, but that it is more processing orientated now is awesome news!!

also import/export of pxg files with repository (https://github.com/praxis-live/pxg) is a major step. i've just found it by chance by scrolling thru your nice manual. this might be worth to mention on your new site.

is it now possible to include existing processing libraries somehow?

cheers.ivo

It's mentioned as "custom component library". It might get more focus
as it grows - fancy writing some?!

If you haven't seen it yet, there's also a blog post on adapting a
Processing sketch into a Praxis LIVE component -

Unfortunately not at the moment, and not easy either. Most Processing
libraries seem to expect access to PApplet itself, which is
problematic given the architecture outlined in the blog post above and
how the live coding works.

It might be approached on a library by library basis. Are there
particular things you are looking to use?

Best wishes,

Neil

Hi Neil

I would love to use spout (texturesharing on windows like syphon on osx http://spout.zeal.co/ with growing support of tools) processing sender https://github.com/leadedge/Spout2/tree/master/PROCESSING/x64/SpoutSender
As with this it would be possible to create nodes that send the video to other applications like full featured vjtools, mapping tools, ... so one can livecode in praxis and do the otherstuff somewhere else...

I have not gone thru its code to see if it might be working.

There are of course lots of other libs but spout would be the one that connects it to the ecosystem...

Thanx a lot for your work,
Ivo
