Hello Pravah pal!
Its time for another youth adda++ and this time we will walk through the historical lanes of Chandni Chowk and get to know our city better!!! And its facilitated by our very own ex SMILERs - Asif and Mukesh...
Mera Shahar Meri Nazar is an effort to know our city better. Often we like to walk through places unfamiliar to us and through Mera Shahar, Meri Nazar, we attempt to make the unfamiliar familiar to you and reintroduce the idea of cultural walks. We invite you to interact with the physical spaces in Delhi at a personal level to explore these public spaces closely, similar to how we know our personal spaces like home and work place.
It is a popularly known fact that Delhi has undergone tremendous changes unlike any other city of India and the transformation continues till. Each time more charm and glory is added to it...(of course, leaving aside all the ruins!). This beauty and charm is our collective heritage passed down by our ancestors, which also makes it our responsibility to be an active participant in preserving it, the way we care for our homes.
With this thought we are organising a walk that you can call heritage, cultural, or food walk, you may give it any name as everything comes handy in this walk. The walk is being conceptualized for Chandni Chowk because it has got historical significance within the changing sphere of the city. It is where you would be acquainted with multi-culturalism, religious and food diversity. So what better place than Chandni Chowk!
FYI: Dress appropriately and girls may carry a dupatta with them!
So get set to explore the bylanes of Chandni Chowk like never before! Bring along your friends and family!
DATE: 10th March 2012
ASSEMBLY POINT: Rajiv Chowk Metro Station
TIME: 9.30am-9.45am onwards and will end with lunch
As discussed, the alumni members will continue their adda post the walk... So can you all come up with some creative ideas???
