for three months now, after installing Windows Updates, one cannot use any print-to-pdf-features. After uninstalling the updates (KB4574727, KB4565351, KB4571709), it works again. While the updates are installed, neither Microsoft PDF Printer, nor other PDF-Printers (such as PDF24Creator's PDF-Printer) work. The print-jobs go into the queue and one gets a message, that an error has accoured. The print-jobs stay in the queue. SAVING as PDF still works, PRINTING as PDF doesn't. Of Course, uninstalling security updates is not an option. So are there any Workarounds? Print-To-PDF is needed here. Not to be misunderstood: the features are not gone (Microsoft PDF Printer is still installed), they just don't work. It doesn't have anything to do with group policies, as far as I can tell.

Help would be very much appreciated. If the problem has been solved in another thread, a link would be sufficient (unfortunately this is not a good topic to search the internet, because there are far too many unrelated problems discussed).

sorry for the delay (covid 19 causes a lot of work). We resolved the problem by installing a newer version of pdf24 and by disabling the microsoft print to pdf feature. The solution provided here was just about fixing the microsoft print to pdf feature, but as I wrote, all pdf-printers didn't work anymore after installing the windows-updates.

3.Find Event Viewer >Applications and Services> Microsoft> Windows> PrintService, enable operational log (here I have already enabled), reproduce the problem again, check is there error message.

Thank you very much for your input. I will check that out. But just to clarify the problem: ALL pdf-printers are broken after installing the update, not just Microsoft PDF. Even third-party-pdf-printers (like pdf24creator) suddenly don't work anymore. So it's not just a problem with a printer, but the whole feature "print something as a pdf-document" is broken after installing these updates. Uninstalling helps; after uninstalling, ALL pdf-printers work again. Cheers.

I have Acrobat DC (The Full version) I am looking for a way to go to a network share and select multiple PDF files and print them all at the same time. The issue I am having is it opens a new instance of Acrobat for each PDF it prints locking my machine up from use until the printing is done. Is there a way around this with Acrobat DC?

Conceivably, within Acrobat itself, you could either use an action or probably better, Javascript, to go through a directory (whether locally stored or on a network share), open each PDF file, invoke printing with predetermined print parameters, initiate printing, and close the PDF file moving on to the next PDF file in the directory.

However, this is a serial operation in term of opening the PDF file and generating the print stream. Once the print stream is generated, control is returned to Acrobat, i.e., Acrobat is not waiting for physical completion of printing, just the spooling to complete. And while this is happening, you cannot use Acrobat for any other tasks.

Yep, I understand the situation with printing multiple PDF's and it serving multiple windows, I guess I'm more looking to get some help on setting up the predetermined print parameters, and or Javascript, so that I can get to that point. Everything I've found online goes about halfway there, but doesn't lay it out step by step. Understand that every situation is different, but it would be nice to have Adobe create a tutorial that walks people through this type of thing. It seems alot of people have been asking for it, but not quite getting to the finish line. Or create canned scripts that someone can just plug in and manipulate to suite their environment (Apologies if these already exist, but I have yet to find them).

In order to view two documents or two parts of the same document side by side within the PDF Expert app window, you use the Split View mode (Horizontal and Vertical). PDF Expert for Mac has several ways to enable Split View:

If your iPad runs iPadOS 13 or later, you can open multiple windows of PDF Expert and work on two or more PDFs simultaneously. This is a great way to compare documents or refer to one PDF while editing the other.

iPads with the older iOS versions have no option to open multiple instances of the same app. Instead, on your iPad with iOS 11 or later, you can use Split View to work with two different apps at the same time. For example, you can view two PDFs side by side by opening PDF Expert and our free Documents app at once. Split View is also convenient for moving files between apps with drag & drop.
