Inspiring Testimony of Last Bridge the Band & journey about there Debut Gospel Album "Tere Bina".
In early 2009, we were a team of 7 youngsters, we met each other in different places and occasions for no reason, where we never thought we would turn up to form a popular band. We started exploring the potential to be a musician in each other. And in the excitement of forming a band we named our band as "Exciters" which is now called "Last Bridge". We had no big plans or prospective to become a top band, but when we saw the response to our performances which was far more than our expectations, we started to have strong commitments to play for the LORD and to relieve the fashion of secular music among the youngsters. We laid our backs to construct the bridge over the sinful river of the world by spreading the gospel through our songs and music. There were tough times when the pillars were not strong enough to continue the construction, but the Grace of the LORD was always upon us watching the efforts put on to serve Him with the talents He gifted us. The fun-filled worship songs written and composed by us being recorded in mobiles and spread amongst our friends ignited us to record some of our songs, so that they are available to all the people.
We all were very young and just students but the only thing we had in our hands was our vision and talent. We realized that the output we were looking for is monetarily beyond what we can afford but we prayed together with hope. We started earning a little by giving music classes and that barely reached our expenditure with which we started off recording. As we were new to the studios, unfortunately we had our money drowned in unnecessary expenses. And as the situations were getting tougher with us with empty pockets, we started losing hope gradually and people started mocking at us which depicted as a powerful attack by the Satan but God helped us to face it boldly. Our parents did not support us much as they were also economically weak then and wanted us to concentrate on studies. Amidst all such disappointments and hopeless situations, one fine day we all joined together in prayer with a burdened heart and tears. The One who hears our prayers according to Psalms 65:2, our loving God has dearly answered our prayers which is the turning point in our lives which is still memorable.
That very evening, I (Sam Alex) happened to share this with my uncle at a gathering and very soon he called me to his house and gave me a cheque of Rs.40,000. And at that moment, we realized that God has started working amongst us. The following month, I was asked to teach Keyboards at the Music School where I learnt earlier, in a place near Bengaluru (SPWM, ELM Rayakottai, Tamil Nadu) where I got a good pay. Since then, God started blessing us in different ways through different people. Amazingly we finished the recording successfully and still we were left over with Rs.25,000 in our hands and we planned to utilize this amount for Mixing & Mastering in the best available studio as it was our first album. Then I got in touch with a person from Mumbai who is a believer, working for MTV Coke Studio and I came to know that he charges Rs.25,000 per song. We fell short of money again but we started praying fervently and without stepping back, we requested him to mix at least 2 songs for Rs.25,000. Later we headed to his studio in Mumbai and he asked us to play the songs. We played all the rough tracks we had and our awesome God has miraculously enabled the Sound Engineer agree to mix & master ALL the songs at Rs.25,000 as he happened to like our tracks very much. Immediately, I knelt down and with tears I thanked God for everything He has done and God spoke to me through Nehemiah's story (Nehemiah 4) where when Nehemiah rebuilds the wall, there were lot of discouragements in his way but God enabled him to succeed and the same miracle happened with us and He has accomplished our work, keeping our hopes alive. And it was a fruit of success for all the time-less efforts and sleep-less nights we have spent together and also a result of our teamwork. We initially started with no money and ended up spending more than Rs.1,50,000 by the grace of our Almighty God.
This is our journey from forming the band to launching of our debut album in Hindi “TERE BINA” with 6 tracks and an additional track “Neelay Aasma Ke Paar Jayenge” which made us one of the popular Gospel bands by playing in almost all parts of India along with other top bands and amongst multitudes of crowd. Recently, one of the premiere international Christian Publishers “OM (Authentic Media)” has signed to publish our album among all the Christian stores in India and few countries across the world and also on the online store, thus our vision of reaching the people through our music has been fulfilled.
Finally, my dear friends, one thing I want to tell you strongly is that our God is a faithful God. He may delay but He never denies, so keep your hopes alive with patience.
