A PRAISE REPORT from Sharalee for my friend Bob Van K:
---
This letter was written by my friend Bob Van K to Doug, the pastor of Church on the Way in Van Nuys, Ca.... " This last Saturday night, Kathy and I had just returned from the Life Group leaders' dinner when she got a phone call from our oldest son, David. The first thing he said was, "In case you're watching the news, I just wanted you to know I'm OK." He was up in the Mohave Desert that day, watching the off-road racing that we've all since heard about. "A truck went off the course...at least six people have been killed and a dozen more are injured," he told Kathy. "There are ambulances and rescue helicopters all over the place." It was then that Kathy told me about what had happened to her that morning. She had been driving down to her parents' house, as she does every weekend. All of a sudden, she felt strongly impressed by the Lord..."Pray for David. His life is in danger." Needless to say, she started praying with all of her heart. We found out from David the next day that, about ten minutes before the accident, he had been in the spot where it happened. He has been very affected by this tragedy, sobered by the fact that the people killed were of his age group and that their deaths were so unexpected and sudden...so "here one minute and gone the next." The "take away" for us is that, when you feel that God is telling you to pray about something, don't wait...start praying. It's like Pastor Scott used to say, "We'll never know what headlines we don't read tomorrow because we prayed about things today." Praise God for His mercy!"
