A PRAISE REPORT from Barbara:
---
Day after surgery (Tuesday): Still critical but stable, respirator, chest tubes, lines, & catheter all in place, he was pretty much out of it, waking occasionally for or a few seconds. Wednesday: An attempt was made to remove the respirator, but only to be reinserted, as he just wasn't quite ready. Thursday: Respirator off, eating only a bite or two, but insisting on liquids, which were limited. He was walked twice from one end of TICU to the other. He seemed to getting back to his spunky self with his wise-cracks. Friday: His heart rate was 170 about 6 am & he was not responding to his meds. After a doctor had sedated him, the staff was unable to wake him, & had to use the paddles & was placed on oxygen. He was, of course, tired & slept most of day; thus, considered critical, there was no walking that day. Saturday: His heart rate was still high (161), oxygen used off & on, & eating a bite or two for each meal, he was still not out of the woods. About 1:30, they finally found a med that his body responded to! Hallelulia! Sunday 7:30 am: Heart rate was high again; & they've given him the new med & have it back down. Doctor is in the room at this time, & his nurse has stepped; so, I don't have complete details. Visiting hours don't start until 11 am; & of course, you must know Mom will be there! Kyle has been sharing with one of the nurses that can't say for sure that she is a Christian. He seems really concerned about her lack of faith. her name is Han-nah; so, please lift her up in prayer. Of course, it goes without saying, continue to pray for God's guidance with the medical staff's decisions, etc. & that His will be done with Kyle's healing. Thanks in advance for your prayers! Good news! Almost as soon as his heart rate went up to 161 this morning, the medical team had it under control; & it went back to 87! They have walked him 4 times today. His sister & her family were able to come up from Belton for a visit, & that helped his spirits; as he loves seeing those nieces & nephew! He wanted a Whataburger; so, naturally his older brother & I went at least 10 miles to buy one! We're rejoicing in God's answer to prayers! Thanks again! In His Love, Barbara
