To All, This is our first bike ride this year, mostly because our rivers are very low and we can't run kayak trips. This ride in Decatur is in the west part of town, far from the smell of soy beans and the noise and hustle of downtown. This 20 mile ride is more like an almost constant ride through a park. For those not familiar with our Ski and Adventure Club rides. We are the club anyone can ride with. We are much more laid back than other clubs. We ride at a leisure pace of 10-12 MPH. We talk to each other and enjoy the scenery. We ride on dedicated bike trails and do not mix with traffic on city streets or country roads. We only deal with vehicle traffic when crossing streets. You can ride almost any bike with us. Most of us ride with old heavy bikes. You do not have to buy a new expensive light bike. Our only big rules are, be safe and have fun. Helmets are recommended. We do not shout out commands or directions unless it is to keep someone safe. Some of us will have tools and bike tubes but please feel free to bring your own. Bring whatever you need to snack on and drink. We will announce rest stops and/or eating stops. If what we do sounds like fun. Please come join us. We will figure out who rides with who at Country Fair. Please come a few minutes before 9AM so we can get a head count. We hope to see some of you tomorrow. Mike & Anja Metz
