Good morning,

Last call!  This is your 1 week reminder that the ATP Fall 2025 Survey & Comment Map will close next Friday, October 31.

News & Notes:

  • We have promoted these items at 18 community events.
  • We have received hundreds of responses from all over Champaign County!
  • There are posts on the CUUATS Facebook and Instagram if you have not yet but would like to share them.
    • CCFPD also shared it to their Facebook this week.
  • If you haven’t taken the survey yet, please feel free to do so!

And thank YOU all for helping us promote these items – we hope the results will enrich this plan and also provide useful content for your individual agencies!

Best,
Gabe

Subject: Active Transportation Plan Survey OPEN!

Hello Champaign County Active Transportation Stakeholders!

The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) is starting the first phase of public outreach for our county-wide Active Transportation Plan, and we want your help getting the word out!

The Champaign-Urbana Active Transportation Plan (C-U ATP) is an update of our existing Champaign County Greenways & Trails Plan, and aims to create an up-to-date plan for enabling and encouraging active transportation (walking, biking, using mobility devices) and access to parks. The study area for this plan is the entirety of Champaign County, with additional analysis focused on the metropolitan planning area, which includes the City of Champaign, City of Urbana, University of Illinois, Village of Savoy,  Village of Mahomet, and Village of Bondville.

For the first phase of public outreach, we are asking for feedback on residents’ current experience as a pedestrian, cyclist, or park user, including their use of different transportation modes, areas that they like or dislike, and changes that they want to see. To gather this info, we have provided an online survey and comment map, both available in multiple languages. Links to all of the outreach materials can be found on the plan homepage (ccrpc.org/cu-atp) or our Linktree (https://linktr.ee/ccrpcpcd).

We welcome any assistance you can provide in getting the word out about this outreach! I have attached a flyer to this email; RPC staff would also be happy to drop off printed copies of the flyer or printed surveys at your request. In addition, we have posted about the survey on the CUUATS social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), and would welcome any sharing of this content. Feel free to reach out with any questions or requests for how we can best involve community members in this process. RPC staff will also be conducting outreach at a variety of public events over the next six weeks, so feel free to say hi if you see us!

Thank you for your involvement in the C-U ATP, and your help in ensuring that this project best serves the Champaign County community!

Best,
Gabe
