To All,   The Constitution Trail is one of our favorites for years. All paved, fairly smooth, very Urban Scenic. We plan to ride 25 miles.  Most riders choose an out and back ride, but over the years we have figured out how to make this an almost non-repetitive loop by riding through low traffic neighborhoods. We plan a short stop for a break in Normal, and then plan to ride the east branch of the trail to Gill Street Pub for a lunch break. After we have had our fill, we will head south through low traffic neighborhoods, all the way to the southern campus of  State Farm Ins. Then we head west to the sad ending of the trail at Veterans' Parkway. Here we go north, cross Vet. Pkwy. and enter a wormhole. Naw!  Just kidding. Just seems like a wormhole. Here we go down a few blocks of western streets till we magically run into the downtown branch of the Constitution Trail again and make our way back to the RT 9 West Trailhead.  Not really magical, but it is all in "my" head and probably not in yours. How did you think I got this job " anyway" ? So keep your trip leader alive and I promise to get you home safe too. Should be a great day in the mid eighties. Almost any bike will do. We are not racers or in a hurry. Our rides are strictly for fun and making new friends at a leisurely pace. If you are from the Bloomington area meet us at the Rt. 9 West Trailhead at 10 AM. Those of us coming from Champaign will leave the Southpaw restaurant in Mahomet at 9AM. Anja and I will be there for breakfast at 8AM if you care to join us. We hope to  see some of you out there.        Mike & Anja Metz
