Good Morning team,

So i have a list of events that we've used last year with a couple new ideas. Ill post them up a little later, i cant right now. Please reply to this message with any event ideas or anything in general that involves events, recruitment, room designs, etc etc.

*This event wasn't originally in my list but i'm writing it here so i don't forget it

-Who's Line is it Anyway recreation - Collab with various clubs.  1 or 2 reps from each club. Ideal for a Thursday Evening. Can be a spring or fall event -- doesn't matter to me

Hope to hear from you all soon!

-Ary

All of these are ideas. Let me know if you like any of them so I can do more in depth research.

1) Having some events in which we serve the community. I was thinking volunteer work or mentor-ship.  It can at any location preferably for a Latin@ organization or cause.

2) The collaborations are good.  We could have an event where all the clubs that are in the WEB building are involved.  It could be a mixer or the whose line event could work well for this too.

3)  In terms of recruiting, I can't really turn the sexy on or anything.  I am just going to talk to people, make friends, and bring them to the back to chill. I'm sure you all have your own tactics.

4)  Something I really want to do is have some Puerto Rican/ Dominican/ Latin@ literature in the club rooms and maybe have like a "book club night" of sorts, where we all read a chapter, article, or even a book and talk about it.  When we clean up the rooms I would like to see if there is room for a small bookshelf.  The textbook for intro to PRLS is a good book to have.  I would also like to talk to Maria Perez y Gonzalez or someone in the PRLS department to get more of the history of the club.

5)  The last thing is last year I was a part of another school organization called the Black and Latino Male Initiative.  This specific club is for guys but the resources they offer can be used by all of us.  They have counseling, writing advisers, academic advisement, and tickets for plays and things.  It is a new organization that is looking to grow and help Blacks and Latin@s strive on campus.  This is something that I would like to promote especially to any new members, to help them adjust to college on an academic level.  PRA got it on a social level.  I know it definitly helped me socially.  Without PRA I would be in the library watching netflix all day.  I love you guys! :)

See ya'll soon.

1) In regards to mentor-ship: theres a young lady joining our club next semester who has already been planning to do some sort of mentorship with high school students to get the club involved. we can also look for several other however thats not the main issue. Our issue is actually getting the members to not be lazy and actually get involved.

2) in regards to an event for the people t the web, they got excited about our Nerf Gun War event idea so i think it might go to that. Hopefully theres not that awkward tension like there was last semester.

3) There are several ways we can recruit. of course theres the being sexy and making friends but theres also going to classes and talking about the clubs there.

4) Chris wanted to do that last year. We actually have a box of books in the room...and the book is good so i think people will get into it. Again, we just have to get people to get into it.

5) yes i have heard of BLMI...my friend is a part of it. Of course you can promote it to the clubs...just like i hope you're promoting pra and medo over there :)
