Based on the Traditional Alimah Course

1. Fundamentals Program (Non Arabic)

The Fundamentals Program provides an overview of the fundamental elements of classical Islamic learning and spirituality. This track is principally designed for students who wish to acquire basic knowledge obligatory for a Muslim, without learning Arabic, and who can contribute a time commitment of about 4 hours per week. The following curriculum will be covered:

Qur’an Translation and Commentary of the Entire Qur'an; The Sources & Methodology of Interpretation
Hadith Introduction to the Science of Hadith; Zad al-Talibin (Provisions for the Seekers); Shamail al-Tirmidhi
Islamic Beliefs Basic tenets of our faith through Imam Tahawi’s Aqidah al-Tahawiyah
Islamic Law (Fiqh) Historical Development of Islamic Law; Fiqh of Worship (Taharah, Salah, Zakah, Fasting, Janazah and al-Udhiya)
Islamic History ANY 2 COURSES FROM: Seerah; Lives of the Companions; Mothers of the Believers
Contemporary Issues ANY 2 COURSES FROM: Management & Self-Discipline in Islam; Marriage in Islam; Islam, Women & Gender
Islamic Spirituality ANY 2 COURSES FROM: Islamic Spirituality Essentials; Diseases of the Heart; Stations of Certainty; Islamic Etiquette & Conduct

2. Advanced Program:
The Advanced Program builds on what is learned in the Fundamentals Program, and is principally designed for students who wish to study the Islamic sciences in-depth, attain reading fluency in classical Arabic, and are motivated to commit about 8 hours per week. The program is based on the traditional curriculum of the four year ‘Alimah course’, and provides a firm and broad basis in all of the main disciplines of classical Islamic scholarship.

*Upon successful completion of the 
Advanced Program, students will qualify to take an advanced degree course to be offered in the future inshaAllah, or at other partner institutions.

Islamic Law (Fiqh) Historical Development of Islamic Law; Fiqh of Worship (Taharah, Salah, Zakah, Fasting, Janazah and al-Udhiya); Fiqh of Commerce and Finance, Marriage & Divorce through Mukhtasar al-Quduri
Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh) Fundamentals of Islamic Jurisprudence through Usul al-Shashi
Islamic History  Seerah; Lives of the Companions; Mothers of the Believers
Contemporary Issues Management & Self-Discipline in Islam; Marriage in Islam; Islam, Women & Gender
