Everyone is strongly encouraged to attend to preview a new draft of the blueprint that will guide public education in Hawaii’s schools and classrooms beginning now and into the future. Everyone will be able to provide input, feedback, advice, and recommendations for the final blueprint for the future of public education in Hawaii.
After a comprehensive effort that has included a State Education Summit (July 9th at the Hawaii Convention Center) followed by eighteen (18) community town hall meetings and forums on every island and across Oahu, the November 2 meeting will serve as the culminating event for engaging teachers, principals, students, parents, and community members ti discuss the future of public education in Hawaii.
Important takeaways from the meeting will include:
-
A clear explanation of the three (3) public education plans being developed at the present time: (a) Governor’s Education Blueprint, (b) DOE Strategic Plan, and (c) State ESSA Plan to be sent to the federal government
-
A new vision for Hawaii’s public education system, schools, and classrooms
-
What education leaders across the state are doing to align plans and make connections
-
A significant opportunity for students, educators, parents, and community members to provide direct and meaningful feedback, input, and recommendations for needed change and reform for public education
The forum is open to everyone. Please attend!
