Hi all,
Starting GoF from beginning, tomorrow March 11th would be Factory
Method. Anybody interested? Should we also decide here what is the
second pattern/subject and who would be a moderator?

Just a reminder to anybody new to GoF patterns and these meetings: Today is perfect day to start learning! Read through http://groups.google.com/group/ppppkh/web/for-your-first-pattern-study-session for some tips.

About Factory Method:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Factory_method_pattern
http://www.dofactory.com/Patterns/PatternFactory.aspx

Opening Question:
How does Factory Method promote loosely coupled code?

I'll be there, this is a pattern I use all the time so I don't mind moderating.

Although a little more to do with the business than mechanics of software,  this article might be an interesting discussion point for the second half of the meeting?

Can talk about this. I also have couple of books with me about other patterns I've mentioned before... I could briefly present what those are about and how they might be good to study...

I'll be there. For the second subject, I'll go with the flow, though i
have a slight preference for the free economic article Chris
proposed.
