Hi all

I'm gonna be down in Dunedin for the day on tuesday (from Auckland). The reason i'm there is for a job interview in the morning (with F&P), but i will have a few hours in the afternoon to do whatever. My flight back is at 6.20pm

If two or three of you are free that day, it would be neat to meet up over a beer or something.
If not, then at least suggest some things i should check out. I know basically zero about Dunedin, and i might be living there in 2 weeks.

cheers
Tommy

I'm free. If you're job interview is actually at Fisher and Paykel then it will be out of town a bit at Mosgiel so meeting anywhere will require someone to go out of their way. So, as I'm the first to reply, I suggest either the classic student pub, The Captain Cook (which is near me) or the Duke of Wellington (which is near the centre of town and hopefully about as far away for everyone).

Both of which can be easily found on Google Maps.

F&P is in town now, they moved recently, so the interview will be here http://www.zenbu.co.nz/entry/1177437-fisher-paykel-appliances

I checked it out on google maps, it's only 500m from either of those pubs. I'm happy to meet at the Captain Cook.

Hi all,

I am keen for this. Noon to 1pm is ideal for me on Tues, but I
would try to make it to whatever you guys end up arranging. The Cook
is not what I would call a welcoming environment though, and it might
be worth having access to wireless if we wanted to work on anything.
Just thoughts, there are lots of places to go though, or we can take
drinks away and go to the Uni campus. Depends what kind of
food/drink/atmosphere you are after. In the end, wherever and
whenever is most suitable to all others is fine by me.

Cheers,
Abe

My interview schedule only finishes at 12.45, and i'll prob have lunch with them after that too, so 1.30 to 3pm would be a good time for me, or any time until 5pm when i should prob arrange my cab to the airport.

Re the environment and working on anything, i feel we could work on things any day over irc, and that this should just be a social meeting and to an idea of who the dunedin people are. I would like to have a look around the campus at some point too, and i will have my laptop with me.
