If we do another Auckland Pirate meet-up, say next week, should we do it at the Horse & Trap like old times, or somewhere more central? or suburban?

Suggestions? Any new or improved places from the last 2 years while I've been away, worth trying out?

I reckon the venue I used for the last meeting wasn't too bad, at The Spitting Feathers. As it is very very central, and on some days they've got dirt dirt cheap drink specials ;-)

Ok, I'll go with that. Is next Tuesday evening a good time for people? just to throw a random time out there.

Given the pace this mailing list can move at.... and that we've done no publicising elsewhere, I reckon giving only one or two day's notice is waaaay too little notice!

Plus I'd prefer a friday as it also doubles as the end of the week, or maybe a thursday. Than early on in the week of a tuesday.

oops, I meant to say "one or two *working* day's notice*....

5 days' notice works fine for every other part of the country :p

If 13 Dec works better for people, I'm fine with that too (yay black friday). Any later than that, then it's better to leave it until after summer. Like March, or at the earliest a week before parley - so on 14 Feb.

5 working days notice is a world of difference from just a couple!

And ok, the 13th? I'm not superstitious! :-P

As it appears you're the organiser.... are you volunteering to create the FB event, post to the forums, and update the IRC topic to publicise this? ;-)

Nah, I think 4 days is enough to establish that no one is interested yet. I say we leave it until after everyone's registered for parley and sort something out in Feb.

Maybe if somebody/you had made a FB event and pimped it out at the various avenues then perhaps we'd have got the necessary interest for it however.

that 'somebody' is exactly the interest we don't have.

Maybe when the CRM and Comms Manager by-elections (and IncSoc and CD's) are all sorted I'll be that someone, but for the moment there's too much on my plate to do much more than go to an event someone else organizes.
