This is a Geekzone update with some news about a couple of events
happening in Auckland that may be of interest. If you feel you want to

*** Microsoft TechEd 2013

Microsoft TechEd is just around the corner, happening in Auckland 10th
- 13th September. I will be attending the event and if you see me
around in a conference room or exhibit floor just stop me to say
hello. I am currently working on something tied to the event so I will
post in the forums with more information later this week - but it will
be worth saying hello...


*** Geekzone IRL Auckland drinks

Every now and then our readers organise events around the community we
built. Next Friday 13th September we have another Geekzone IRL drinks
at Tuihana Cafe in Auckland to enjoy drinks, finger food and talk all
you want about technology in general.

This event is happening on the last day of Microsoft TechEd, so I am
extending my visit to Auckland for an extra day so that I can join the
drinks this time. The ticket costs $20 and goes all towards drinks and

*** OSDC 2013

Another conference happening in Auckland is the Open Source Developers
Conference 2013 (OSDC), now in its 10th year and for the first time in
New Zealand. This time the conference spans 21st - 23rd October at the
Langham Hotel and it’s primarily focused on development with open
source tools and development of open source software. More information
